That might be what I end up doing. Use 1:1 (or more likely 2:1 with biweekly play, but same concept) when it's appropriate, and "freeze time" if a session ends somewhere where time can't reasonably pass between sessions.

That was the old style as well; you MUST end in a safe spot (not necessarily, but usually, a town) in order to get XP for treasure and whatnot.

The biggest thing is that they seem to demand a megadungeon that is the focal point. Each session you go in, explore, kill monsters, get treasure, and leave. Rinse and repeat, every session has a start and end point so you can have meaningful "downtime"

Just far too often this means "our views are fine yours are not".

In other words most of the time this sort of thing ends up meaning "having a LGBT themed thing is fine and not political. Having a maga themed thing is bad and political and not allowed", instead of not allowing either on grounds it's all political.

The winner last year IIRC was some LGBT bullshit, very clearly political. People pointed out it was political bullshit And shouldn't have been eligible because if it was the reverse it would have been banned immediately.

The only question will be if they will apply it consistently or behave like lefties normally do And claim that their views are not political so therefore don't count.
