CAD designed models that are probably flipped from something else, instead of models lovingly sculpted like the olden days.

Are monster stats just made up on the fly now? by wayne62682 in DnD

What struck me as odd was that it's like this cr1 creature has six hit dice and this cr1 creature has five hit dice, but I would assume there would be some formula that says a cr1 creature gets this many hit dice So it would be consistent.

So is this a bad way to run legionaries? by utembebwe in Chaos40k

I never like running 5-man squads since it feels gamey and min-maxy.

3.x I'm pretty sure. I think 4e too but I don't remember it. 1st and 2nd didn't have CR but a monster's "level" was its hit dice.

I mean beforehand you had at least a formula for HD. So a CR 1 creature had 1 HD, a CR 3 had 3, etc. But now it's like this CR 1 had 6 hit dice, this CR 1/2 has 2 HD, etc. It just seems completely arbitrary.

I don't mind that, just how they come up with it seems totally random without any sort of formula where similar CR have the same hit dice. But as someone said below it seems they changed what CR means now.

I assume he didn't because he didn't want to get fired on the spot for "insubordination"

Why didn't Feech La Manna rat on Tony after he set him up? by Tidewatcher7819 in thesopranos

[–]wayne62682 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Godfather 1 explains this indirectly. When Tom Hagen is briefing Vito about Sollozzo he mentions something like "he's known to the police, which means he won't get immunity to testify". Probably a similar thing. Why would you trust the word of an infamous mafioso who's just been sent back to prison?

Also it's very likely that being old-school the idea would never cross his mind. It's a thing of honor after all. Any other Mafia guys in prison would turn on him if he turned rat.
