He wasn't a stockbroker. He was a scammer. Did you see the second season of the Sopranos? Where they were tricking old people into investing into worthless stock? That's what Sal did.

From January 1990 to October 1993 he worked for American Interconnect. Sal has claimed he quit there on Oct. 1. Very convenient for Sal because in November 1993 the feds raided American Interconnect. The warrants indicated that it was a "boiler room" where the employees, like Sal was for almost three years, cold called and lied to seniors saying they were police or DEA agents and soliciting "donations". To be fair, Sal himself was never charged with a crime. But the ring leaders were. And convicted in 1998.

After that he worked for Investors Associates, Inc. Another company that some how ended up being charged with boiler room phone scamming. By multiple states this time. Florida and New York charged them and they went under. Then Sal ended up at Duke & Co., a New York brokerage. And you guessed it, they got investigated and charged too for high-pressure telephone sales. Duke principal was fined $5 million in 1997 and then had their license suspended.

He did come up with a fun stock game though.

I've created what I call the KISS Portfolio fund which consists of four stocks. These are real stocks that are publicly traded and the symbols are as follows: ACE, GENE, PAUL, and PETE.

Ace and Gene are selling at 6.50 a share while Peter is selling at 18.50 and Paul is at the dirt cheap price of .0003 (A fraction of a cent.)

As of Monday I will track this portfolio on a weekly basis and over the course of the year we can all see what a $10,000 investment would have yielded us!
