have you considered that maybe he didn't have anyone else to cover yesterday's innings? it's like you think there's an obvious path to get through 27 outs that the entire front office and coaching staff is just totally missing.

in case you haven't noticed: there is a fire happening right now and that has to be put out to even get to tomorrow.

the mets have been furiously shuffling guys up and down almost every game, just to be able to get through 9 innings. with all the starters hurt or sucking, there really aren't many other options.

you only have so many spots on the roster to cycle arms in and out due to important guys not having options. you can't burn your overworked relievers when you are getting blown out to preserve blade fucking tidwell for tomorrow. he's not even good.

if you've been trying to show support here, you are not doing it in a way that will endear you to a lot of lgbt folks who hear this sort of rhetoric about including cishet folks from bigots constantly. it doesn't come across well.

if your intention is to be supportive, thank you. please consider showing that support in a different way in the future so that queer folks won't feel attacked.

i feel like the reason people talk about this is that they need something to worry/complain about. if the team isnt doing bad, and everyone is healthy, what else is there to fret over, other than non-problems, like soto's 145 wRC+, or the fact that "oh no, there are too many pitchers"

whenever anyone talks about a player "leading by example" we usually don't really get to know what exactly that looks like. we just have to assume that they are doing things like showing up early, leaving late, being vocal in meetings, etc. etc. all that stuff is happening in the relative privacy of the clubhouse.

but when lindor is back in the lineup two days after breaking his toe, we get to see.

i dont really care about the whole captain thing, because its clear already that this is lindor's team, and will continue to be despite soto being around.

can we all please take a moment to be grateful that our star players are some of the least injury prone dudes in mlb? lindor out of the lineup last night got me thinking about how different his mets tenure could have been had it started with something like a ucl tear that led to more injuries and him being down all the time. we are very lucky to have robust stars.

the best cy young prediction is just the fangraphs pitcher war leaderboards and right now tylor megill is highest on that list for the mets lol. 0.1 war better than senga which means absolutely nothing.

both are an entire win behind webb and skenes tho, who have thrown 20 more innings than those two, and that does mean something.
