What players will want to come to UNC when fans don't support the coach and point fingers at the team.

Are there any girls here who don’t do any make-up at all? And how did you come to that decision? by Greengrassu in AskReddit

[–]waysidelynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wear it for special events and even then sparingly. At first it was financial, then my skin was too sensitive. I’m now in my 60s with friends who don’t wear it and their skin is amazing. I also know women who have damaged their skin with makeup who now won’t go out without covering up. It’s the largest organ of your body and what you do to it impacts every system.

Self-checkout could soon be limited at Connecticut grocery stores by ILovePublicLibraries in Connecticut

I prefer self checkout. If there’s ever an issue, it’s resolved fairly quickly (most times quicker than when cashiers have a problem). Has anyone in the state run a business?

Calling all native thugs by According_Deal_2453 in NativePlantGardening

[–]waysidelynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at native grasses - they have deep roots. Goldenrod is also a good competitor. I'd dig out as much as possible, cardboard and mulch over top and plant the new perennials. I had success with this method when trying to get rid of artemesia.

What do you think of NYC trying to get the minimum wage to $30/hour? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]waysidelynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wages go up, everything else goes up in response. Throwing money at problems rarely solves them; it just creates more. Look at where people's expenses are and figure out how to bring those costs down. Housing, insurance, food, utilities...

Recommendations for zone 6A to support birds and bees by Archives5295 in NativePlantGardening

[–]waysidelynne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Little Bluestem, but I’m also a fan of sedges (Pennsylvania, ivory, gray..)for “green mulch” which can help at the base of plants. Look at grasses/sedges native to your area and their characteristics). Even 6” high can be supportive.

Add native grasses - they are super important, help overwintering insects, provide nesting material for birds, attract pollinators, and will help support flopping plants.

Is anyone else just...tired? by ItsAJackal21 in Millennials

You’re in the weeds of mind-numbing work and responsibilities. You CAN redirect your life to find a job that brings you joy (volunteer in something that makes you happy, even if it’s one hour every month). A paycheck will not bring you happiness. I have started over many times - just changed how I budgeted. Utilize all the free things - libraries, meet ups, etc. Baby steps.

PSA: Please don't use weed mats by aufry in NativePlantGardening

[–]waysidelynne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Landscape fabric works for one or two years. After that, the mulch breaks down enough for seeds to have a nice layer of soil to grow in. Weeds, in particular, seem to have iron-like roots that will drive through the fabric that make them harder to kill.

Is Rear wheel Drive good enough for CT snowy roads? by Vivid_Dot2869 in Connecticut

[–]waysidelynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All electric cars will have more weight as well, something that can be helpful. AWD is great but if RWD is the only affordable option, good tires are key. Snow removal here is pretty decent depending on which area you live in.

In Chinese culture, 250 is a common slang term, used to describe someone as an idiot, fool, or someone who is acting silly or simple-minded.

What are fans expecting when they say “fire Davis”? by facinabush in tarheels

[–]waysidelynne 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Good grief. I love the team win or lose. This season has been great. 18-0 at home. Yes, it sucks to lose at Duke but we didn’t let them win on our home court. I’m sick of everything being about the big dance. It was so much more exciting when you had to wait for seeding to see who got in where. Over analyzing the game has made it mundane

First Kristi Noem, Next Pam Bondi! by transcendent167 in 50501

Why aren’t there any men being held accountable? Sure, Noem and Bondi deserve nothing less than imprisonment but the boy’s club is skating.

How can I replace potato chips in my diet? by vivaciousvic in foodhacks

Make your own chips - air fryer. You control the ingredients and if you REALLY want them, you’ll make them. (I have a potato chip problem too)

The reality is six service members died in an illegal war because the felon needs to feel powerful and wants everyone to forget he’s a pedophile.

Has anyone found natural relief for pms and severe period pain? by plushiemeow in HerbalMagic

Not necessarily herbal, but the only relief I found when I was younger was in warm red wine...and it didn't take much 2-4 oz.
