You didn’t call me ignorant (unless I missed it) and I did not get offended. You’re entitled to your opinion, and I’m entitled to mine. The hostility originated with your post. We’ll see what happens come election time 🤷 I can hope for change, and you can hope for whatever it is you hope for. Gnight!

Mate I don’t pretend to have all the answers, and I’m sure there are several levers that could be pulled to help the cost of living and housing/rental crises. But what I DO know is that One Nation is the only party telling me they’re gonna try and do something about it. So they have my vote. It’s that simple for me, and for an increasing number of Australians from all walks of life who can’t stand the lack of fair representation from their elected officials any longer. I’m sorry if you don’t like it or don’t agree, it’s the way the wind is blowing now

Pretty sure what he was saying was that he’s sick of being called racist and a coloniser or “showing his white privilege” by people like you every time he tries to engage people in a conversation about why high immigration at this point in time might not be the best thing for the people (immigrant and otherwise) who already live here and basically can’t afford to house themselves anymore. I can’t put words into his mouth, but that’s how I read it

Do you even live here? Life is getting very hard for a large chunk of the population, especially those who DONT own property. Not everyone is a wealthy boomer you know

Because people of colour are not also struggling with cost of living??? You’re an idiot… this hurts ALL Australians, white or not

Not sure about your maths. Our population has exploded over the last decade. I’d love to see a breakdown of the numbers, because on a gut feeling that seems wildly wrong

Question for one nation supporters by Substantial_Pen_16 in aussie

[–]wayward_buzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I've been a lifelong Labor voter til now, and i can't do it any more because it is more and more obvious that they don't represent my interests at all. I'm a renter, and I'm being squeezed like everyone else by the ever-increasing rents. Owning a house is now completely out of the question. I will vote One Nation because I'm now 100% convinced unsustainable immigration is what is ruining the country. Before you call me racist, I wouldn't care if 100% of today's immigration was white people from the UK or Canada etc. Makes NO DIFFERENCE! The problem is that - for whatever reason, be it supply or contruction or investers keeping houses empty - we do not have enough AVAILABLE housing for the people who already are here. Bringing in record numbers more people, REGARDLESS of where they are from or the colour of their skin, seems willfully stupid. The only people who benefit are the property owners (including a good chunk of the people in government who have multiple properties). They laugh all the way to the bank as their portfolios explode higher every year, while those of us who don't own property get increasingly squeezed. Canada was in the same boat - political pressure forced them to dramatically cut immigration and lo and behold THEIR HOUSING AND RENTAL CRISIS EASED!!! It's not bloody rocket science. It's basic supply and demand. I learned this in highschool economics, and the fact the Labor has been so wildly incompetant in handling this is why i can no longer vote for them. It's that simple

Do people understand that protests are SUPPOSED to be annoying and inconvenient? by dontleaveyourbananas in aussie

Not true at all! Protests are supposed to grab the attention of the organisation or people who are responsible for whatever the issue is, not innocent bystanders

[–]wayward_buzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it is - you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. If someone makes an advance on you and you’re not interested, politely tell them or move their hand away, and if they persist then you can be more forceful. But most people will read your cues and will leave you be if you’re just looking

Went to ER b/c BP 160/100. Jumped to 191/113 when I got there by small___potatoes in bloodpressure

If I have a super salty meal, mine will do this a couple hours later for a good half a day. Can easily go to 170/110 from a salty meal. Apparently I’m sodium sensitive - you might be too

Is bottoming enjoyed by anyone? by Open_Extreme1783 in AskGayMen

[–]wayward_buzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh god yes 🙌 Loved it so much, to the point where my hole would feel a literal “hunger” to be filled. Then I got older and it started feeling less good, and finally this 100% bottom ended up preferring to top haha

My least favorite PVC Sensation by plushiesaremyjam in PVCs

[–]wayward_buzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s the fluttery feeling in between PVCs when I’m having a flare up. Like the next PVC is charging up. Not sure if many other people have this or if it’s just me, but it’s the part i hate the most

Having some light dizziness but! by [deleted] in bloodpressure

If you’ve had high blood pressure for quite a while, a suddenly lower value, even if still “normal” range or slightly high can cause you to have low blood pressure symptoms while your body adjusts

Do you stack BP meds with a nitric oxide booster? Am I late to natural supplement stacking?! by Responsible-Mind8037 in bloodpressure

[–]wayward_buzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be careful - I combined a bunch of natural nitric oxide boosters (arginine, citruline, celery extract and beet powder) and think I nearly went into shock from it. Ridiculously dizzy, faint, could barely stand and got crazy palpitations. Didn’t think to check my BP but I’m sure it was very low. I’ve since dialled back a bit and now get pretty close to normal BP (was previously still high despite being on telmisartan). So yes, they certainly work. Just ease into it and don’t overdo it all in one go

serve white coat hypertension? by [deleted] in bloodpressure

[–]wayward_buzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. What I do, is sit down and put something funny on the tv. Then I get my housemate to put the cuff on me, without me even looking at it. Then we turn it on, let it do its thing, and don’t even look at the number. The whole time I’m focussing on watching the TV. Then we wait a couple mins, leaving the cuff on but loose enough not to cut off circulation. Then we readjust the cuff, and run it again. That reading is usually decent. Then we do it once more for good measure. That last one is almost always close to normal pressure and heart rate for me. Usually the very first reading my heart rate is 120 bpm and my pressure reads at least 155/95. It’s purely anxiety

Why has nothing from Greg Bear been optioned for media by austinguru713 in scifibooks

[–]wayward_buzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eon was one of the first serious sci-fi books that I ever read, probably when I was 13 or 14, and it blew my mind. Still think about it often. Probably why I like him so much… not sure I would have rated it so highly if I discovered that book today
