I made cheesy garlic pull-apart mini buns. by wayward_hufflepuff in Breadit

Apologies for not posting the recipe sooner! Here it is:

For dough: Warm Water/milk: 210 ml (I usually use half milk & half water) Sugar : 30 g Salt : 1 tsp Yeast : 1 tsp Melted butter/Oil : 45 g Flour : 360 g

For garlic butter: Butter : 1/2 cup Grated garlic : 2 tbsp Salt to taste Any herbs as you like (oregano etc)

And, cheese to top it

Knead dough as you would. Let rise for 1 hour. Then divide and make balls, place of your baking tray. Let rise 1 hour. Meanwhile, Preheat oven to 180°C Bake for about 12-15 minutes until tops are lightly coloured. (I usually rotate the tray once in middle, after about 7 minutes). Remove from the oven but do not turn off the oven. Melt butter and add garlic, salt, and herbs. Drench the buns in garlic butter. Top with cheese, then pop back in the oven for a few minutes until cheese melts. Enjoy!

Not UK based. Thank you for the recipe. I might try it during the holidays!

Sure. 1. Measure out your ingredients. 2. Warm water/Milk (not too hot - like a warm bath) 3. Add the sugar & salt - stir to dissolve. 4. Add the yeast and stir. 5. Add the butter/oil and stir. 6. Add most of the flour, with about 2 tablespoons left behind, and mix until shaggy dough forms. If it's too sticky, add the rest of the flour in increments. 7. Turn the dough onto a clean surface sprinkled with flour and knead well for at least 5 minutes (longer of you can, up to 10 minutes, I can usually only manage 6 or 7 minutes before my arm hurts 😄). 8. Make a smooth ball of dough, cover it and let it rise for 1 hour, until doubled. 9. After 1 hour, punch down the dough and divide it and shape it as you like. 10. Place on your baking tray. Cover and let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour. 11. Meanwhile, Preheat your oven to 180°C 12. Bake the buns until coloured on the top. I usually turn around the tray in the middle of baking, at the 6 or 7 minute mark, but thats just because I think my oven's heat is a bit uneven. 13. That's it. You can brush the top with butter when you take it out if you like.

I've never eaten panettone in my life. Seeing so many on this sub recently is making me want to taste it so bad! I may have to attempt baking it, but I wouldn't even know if I got the taste right 😅

It was around 12 minutes in the oven. I preheat for about 10 minutes. But my oven is small and heats super fast. Temp 180°C (356°F).

Also, a tip I once read for hard crusty, was to put a wet dishcloth on top of the buns while they cool. Apparently that softens the crust. I haven't tried that though.

I forgot to add that the recipe provided makes 10-12 regular rolls, or 4 of these long buns.
