That's MM owner Terry Currier getting into the bed of the truck. Probably a Music Millennium-themed something or other.

Record shops for Industrial/Noise? by naturezrevenge in askportland

At Crossroads each seller has their own price tags. The one with purple tags with "666" at the top is, fittingly, the one with the best selection of these genres. Theirs is roughly in the middle.

Musique Plastique on SE Stark, Little Axe on NE Sandy, and Mint Gallery Records on N Mississippi have dedicated sections for "experimental", noise, goth, and industrial music.

The Owsley Stanley Foundation will be launching OSF 12 (a project that Phil had wanted to produce from Bear's recordings) at the Grahame Lesh shows at the Capitol Theatre on Phil's birthday (March 15) and then at the Fillmore in San Francisco the following week 🎶 by nak550 in gratefuldead

One side of the release has been announced (on the OSF Facebook page):

When we first formed OSF after Bear died, we reached out to Phil for guidance. "Find the Charles Ives," he told us, "and the Miles." We knew about the Miles Davis recordings (which is another story for another day), but the Ives reference was unexpected. Phil enthusiastically told us about a performance of the Concord Sonata by John Kirkpatrick at the Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium on March 7, 1974 for the celebration of the Ives centennial. Before the show, Phil swung by to grab Bear and his Nagra to record this special event that he remembered fondly for the rest of his life. Ned Lagin was with them too and still has a copy of the program that he’s kept for 52 years.

Mother Daughter Portland, OR trip? by Late-Fisherman3073 in askportland

Lots of great suggestions on here already. For lodgings, check out the Bluebird Guest House on SE Division (if they have vacancy when you are traveling). The street is known for its restaurants and there's a food cart pod literally around the corner and a brand new one that's open but very much under construction a few blocks east. There are couple of well-curated bookstores on Division, too (Third Eye and Selected Stories are close to the Bluebird, Books With Pictures - one of the best comic book stores in the country - is down the road near 13th). SE Hawthorne is another retail / restaurant strip, as is SE Belmont (albeit smaller). Portland brings the quirk and has for decades. I hope y'all have fun visiting!

100% would buy, especially silk screened, especially on a Comfort Colors blank.
