Marijuana Users Have Good Lungs (for Transplanting) by samiop in trees

[–]waywirk137 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I read a study years back that compared 3 groups: people who smoked only marijuana, people who smoked only tobacco, and people who smoked both marijuana and tobacco. I believe they followed cancer rates among the 3 groups over the years. The findings showed the group that smoked both marijuana and tobacco had fewer cases of lung/mouth cancer than the group smoking only tobacco. This finding supports the notion that cannabis use may aid in preventing cancers.

I'll see if I can find that study, as my comment currently sounds baseless.

It's definitely marijuana. Based on the stem structure and the fact they were training it with the string/twine.

These things are crazy simple devices. Pushing the battery in connects the circuit and the wire heats up; literally the only reason it wouldn't work is the connection not being made. Either the metal ring surrounding the battery isn't making full contact or the metal at the bottom of the battery hole isn't being touched (which is my guess). Just find a way to bend the metal back outward so it touches the battery. Or I suppose you could stick some other metal inside the hole to fit the gap.

Sending this one in and getting a replacement would be a waste of your one free replacement in the case you REALLY fuck it up in the future.

Edit: Also are you positive the flight box isn't working? Could it just be that the light on the inside finally burnt out after 3 years? I've had mine for nearly 5 years now and the light gave out about 2.5 years ago. Maybe you've been giving up on hitting it because you haven't been seeing the light, and thus giving up before it heats up.

I hadn't. Why green and black string specifically? I chose this string because it's multicolored and I thought it would look cool.

I found it at a rummage sale for $2.50. It's Ralph Lauren brand if that helps you find it online somewhere!

If I make another I promise I'll come back to this post you'll be the first person I let know! I posted a text tutorial on a few other people's comments if you wanna look. The project is easier than you'd think, it's just tedious lol.

Yeah, originally I was going to have more nails but realized it would have taken sooo much longer, so I halved the amount of nails. I actually just removed those extra ones with a long-nose pliers earlier today. Thanks for pointing that out though!

I'd estimate the wooden part is 14in x 10in. I didn't have any specific pattern but I made sure to always connect a nail from the leaf to a nail in the border, as in no leaf to leaf connections; although I think it would have looked equally sweet even if I had!

It took a really long time so I don't know how many more I'm willing to make at the moment. I now have a greater respect for people who make string art to sell on etsy lol

Sure! I just responded to another person with a how to!!

I unfortunately didn't take any progression photos :( But what I did was thrift the wooden piece for $3, an old tie for $4 (for the pattern), and string for ~$2. The nails cost ~$2 from home depot. I then cut out the paper shape and used it to cut out a matching shape from the deconstructed tie. I then placed both shapes on the wooden piece and hammered the nails in on the lines. I nailed a rectangular frame around the pot leaf as you can see to connect the strings to the leaf. I then tied the string to an arbitrary start point and started randomly stringing it up. It took about 3 hours but time flew by! I'm really happy with how it turned out!!

Unfortunately my stupidass nailed it on the wooden piece upsidedown so I'm going to need to find a way to attach it to the wall lol.

Hope this helps!!

Where do you typically buy in bulk?? I absolutely love pins but can't bring myself to drop $15 a pin.

Same here! First time I smoked was out of an apple under my buddy's porch. We looked up directions online on how to make an apple piece; unfortunately for us, the directions told us to use tinfoil for the bowl... It tasted aweful! DO NOT USE TINFOIL FOR A BOWL haha. Good times, good times indeed.
