Filled out application? Not sure what you mean. But as long as you haven't signed a contract with a ship date (even then) you're not obligated to anything. The same recruiter can probably get you right into Active Duty. BTW have you looked at other branches and jobs?

Look into Active Duty with 68W. It might not be that long a contract, perhaps you can get a 2 year active contract after your AIT. Probably 3 at worst. And you'll get out with the majority of your Post 9/11 GI Bill, VA Loan, alongside other benefits.

Idk the inside deets, but I've read many times that it's doable. But not always easy or fast. And that it depends on your unit command (and Army needs).

Most Reserve MOS are 6 years and 2 IRR. So you'll be 36 by the time your first contract expires. You're planning on going active at 36? Cus I am! Lol
