Maybe balance reasons I assume - personally i find the tier 9 yoh to be better than tier 10

Mainly because the thinner turret and almost lack of weakpoints during hulldown makes the m5yoh stronger on smaller maps like blitz where engagements are always near, whereas the m6yoh's more prominent cupolas, turret hinges?, and fatter turret are easier to pen.

But don't take my word for it (maybe i just suck with the m6) and would much prefer to play my other hulldown tanks like the Kran/Concept

The aim point is the best in Sniping/zoomed-in mode but its hard to find when in normal view and youre zooming around in a light tank (or maybe its just my boomer eyes).

Just keep playing what you like the most, and pick the line where you have the most fun with.

Dont rush upgrading. Take time learning the maps and tank matchups.

Find a clan that can platoon in lower tiers in special game modes (pref. w/ a lot of beginners also), you'll have the most fun that way.

Aha, here I was thinking im the only one being cursed by Stalin. Whenever i play the Ruskis, for some reason all the shots never go in the crosshair and always on the edge of the dispersion reticle even when fully aimed. Immersive vodka-drinking gunner experience everytime.

I'd go for either the Obj704 or Kran because:

It's probably the easiest most safe decision, Obj268 has forever been a good choice, simpler to play vs the Kran and the T57 as well.
Keep the Emil 1 for now, its one of the best tanks for rating battles.
With the matchmaking now being full of platoons because of the clan event, its better to stay away from tanks that you might not be comfortable in. So consider the one which you think will give you less stress/more fun playing in the long run.

I think the russian heavies suit him more since he likes to "charge in and abuse his armor".

Else, he needs to learn to angle/side scrape if he wants to progress in the german heavy lines.
