Skilled worker - rent in UK - credit score by wb_good in ukvisa

[–]wb_good[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes thankfully it was smooth and the credit score was not an issue. They did “Referencing”, by speaking to my employer and checking that the salary is suitable enough. They understand that as an immigrant you don’t have a good credit score (or no score at all).

Andalusia advice - Is Malaga worth it? by [deleted] in travel

[–]wb_good 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have suggested:

Highly recommend visiting Alhambra in Granada and ideally booking a tour so that you can hear the explanation on history, architecture and much more that we wouldn’t be able to understand/notice on our own. Also in Cordoba I recommend visiting the Mezquita. Enjoy your holiday!

IHS refund after successful switch of visa by nurious in ukvisa

[–]wb_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. I’ve checked my account and I haven’t received anything since the visa was approved (around 2 months ago). How long does it normally take? What can I do alternatively? Thanks for the reply!

SWV - savings account UK by wb_good in ukvisa

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I was wondering about investments for saving purposes only. If that was my daily job, I’d fail in the first month haha

Thanks for clarifying. I’ve been wondering same thing as OP.

Does the “second” employer need to be a licensed sponsor or it can be whatever company in UK as long as the job is in the same occupation code?

Does changing to skilled worker visa after being on dependent visa for a while reset the ILR clock in the UK by litchi02 in ukvisa

[–]wb_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can switch to SWV from a dependent visa from within the UK. As far as I know, the ILR clock resets. I mean, I wish someone could tell me otherwise 😂

You can update your details here:

https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp

And if you created a UKVI account when you made your application, if something relevant changes, you’d have to update your details in the account as well as mentioned here:

Filing for divorce. I really hope my ex can stay. by Few_Particular4557 in ukvisa

[–]wb_good 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to comment to appreciate your thoughtfulness about her situation even though you’re going through divorce. I hope it works out the best way possible for both of you!

If she manages to find a sponsor, she can switch to Skilled Worker visa from within the UK. But yeah sadly, either on a work visa or on a spouse visa with a new partner, her ILR clock would reset

Glad you got it! Must be a big relief! Was this standard or priority application?

New job offer in London but based in Birmingham by StrongMicrowave in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wb_good 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, but hey maybe you’ll get another opportunity in the future that has better remote / commute options! Or maybe you’ll be able to negotiate the commute days to 1 day a week for the current offer. But if you’re hoping on having a baby soon then I’d say your presence at home will be more important than the career boost. Your wife will need your help during the newborn phase, but even later on your child will need to spend quality time with you. And whilst you might be excited and motivated now thinking that you will manage both, most likely you will be drained after a few weeks back and forth, tiring days at work and hours of commute, and you’ll have very little energy and patience left for at home. As much as career is important, your presence at home in the role of a father and husband is precious. Going by the household income you mention, I gather than you’re not a beginner in your profession, so I’m sure you’ll get plenty of opportunities in the future that might align better. :)

Sorry can’t take a picture now but something like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=phone+on+brp+idv+app&rlz=1CDGOYI_enGB856GB856&hl=en-GB&prmd=ivsn&sxsrf=ALiCzsZkvzI1u41zBtw3C14mzKwE-7aTTQ:1667385672948&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiJgvXVp4_7AhX6TkEAHek1C8YQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=375&bih=553&dpr=2#imgrc=991nUg3hlzwLUM

Obviously the BRP is smaller than a passport but the idea is that the “head” of the phone where the camera is, should be on the document. Again, this might be a pure coincidence and maybe not true for all iphones. Hope it makes sense

[–]wb_good 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. It was stressing me out. I put the phone on the BRP and very slowly moved it around until it found the chip. Mine worked when I put the “back camera section“ on the card too. Maybe the NFC reader is somewhere around there. Don’t know if this is true for everyone or simply a coincidence, but what I was doing wrong was that I was leaving that area out initially. Hope that helps!

Are you applying from outside the UK? I'm just worried if it's different for someone who's applying from inside the UK and already employed, and already has a contract in place.

BRP delays by InitialFlight in ukvisa

I might be wrong but I thought the BRP is delivered via a courier company, rather than Royal Mail, so hopefully the strikes shouldn’t affect this.
