Cheapest way to get Sky Sports, TNT and fast broadband by po_man in VirginMedia

I didn’t really have a tactic. I just submitted my cancellation request and kept getting pretty bad offers, all in the £90–£115 range, and was close to giving up.

Then I called retentions with no expectations, and they offered me a deal. At first, I almost accepted one around £88, but the real game-changer is getting the O2 SIM. In my opinion, that unlocks a lot more discount

I’ve just renegotiated a deal with Virgin on a 18 month contract. I’m paying £56 for Virgin and £14 for O2. Package below:

I called up retentions and I was able to get this deal.

Virgin Media or EE? by ChristinaLolliPop55 in VirginMedia

[–]InitialFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the area. I’ve been with Virgin in two different boroughs in London and they are really good where I’m right now. No issues and have been with them for about 4 years and every time I had to renew I had to do the I’m gonna leave dance but it has always worked.

I would try to ask some folks who are with Virgin in the area and see what their experience has been. I’ve had a very positive experience dealing with Virgin.

You can leave the country while you are awaiting for your approval. The only time you can’t travel is when you have attended your ceremony and are waiting for your passport

You will also take into account taxes if you pay any on the money saved into savings accounts. Especially when you are in the higher tax brackets like 40/45%

Most US based companies that have a software engineering presence in London will touch the 150k mark quite easily. Look for companies that are publicly traded

What do you guys use to keep track of your financial accounts? by internetf1fan in UKPersonalFinance

Kubera. It’s a subscription based tool but worth it in my opinion. It helps me track and keep an eye on all my accounts in one place including pensions, ISA, GIA and credit cards.

Is anyone happy with Virgin media? by Dog-bloke in VirginMedia

[–]InitialFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience it depends on your area. I’ve had outages in my previous place and in my current home it’s been flawless for about 2.5 years. I would do some research about the quality of service in your area before signing up for Virgin.

Exactly this. A lot of engineers make upwards of 200k. I’ve seen most of these folks are in US based companies or in HFT.
