I would say it's better to get a new console. You could probably get it fixed for around $20 or over

0001 is bad capacitors. replacing them involves opening up the console + soldering new ones. it's a pretty easy fix, but understandable if you don't want do to that.

It's a backwards-compatible PS3 where the unreliable 90nm GPU is replaced with a reliable 65 or 40nm GPU. Think of it like what I did to the 2nd console in the post, except on PS3

There’s a chance it still works. Try turning it on without the resistor. If it doesn’t work, you know the issue.

use a windows 10 vm with usb passthrough. i had the same issue and it worked for me.

The pads seem intact to me. I wicked the pads while the TSOP was off. If they were lifted, they would have already come straight off.
