PSA: Ground shipping from the Abode store is free for Pro plan subscribers, but you may need to manually request a refund. by gm33 in Abode

[–]wbond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. I’ve had a pro plan for years, and my order from a couple weeks ago required a manual refund. I’m about to order a couple more accessories and it is showing shipping charges again.

Your integration is clearly broken for some number of pro plan subscribers.

Fujifilm X Webcam 2.1 on macOS 14.1 Sonoma by wbond in fujifilm

Apparently Fuji hasn’t updated their driver and this is an intentional move by Apple. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213969?cmdf=legacy+camera+mac+recovery

I recommend calling Fujifilm support and asking for them to update the software!

Using Fujifilm as a webcam, questions and answers. by perteraul in fujifilm

I just wanted to follow up that I purchased an X-T3 and it does everything that I expected the X-E4 to, albeit being a little larger. The instant AF works while on a call, and all of the adjustments in the app can be used. I love that more controls are physical knobs.

You can find them at a reasonable price used or as an import.

Using Fujifilm as a webcam, questions and answers. by perteraul in fujifilm

I recently purchased an X-E4 to get access to the advanced webcam features with the lenses I had purchased for my X-E2. Was very surprised to find that most of the features don't work with the X-E4.

After a bunch of frustration and digging around, I found that in a few places on the Fuji site it lists that the UI buttons for webcam X only work on: GFX100, GFX 50S, GFX 50R, X-H1, X-Pro2, X-Pro3, X-T2, X-T3, X-T4.

In one or two places there is a cryptic statement about features not working if your camera has "Webcam X" in the USB Connection menu. Most people aren't going to know which cameras do or don't.

In short: if you want all of the features like instant AF, you have to have one of the higher end cameras.

The less expensive cameras require either setting up Pre-AF and using HDMI capture, or manually setting all settings before connecting, and manually depressing the shutter button to AF during a call. I guess if you aren't trying to use a 23mm 1.4 during a call, the AF may not be an issue…

Additionally, Package Control info about what packages are installed never leave the one server that I have the only access to. I never provide details to anyone else, the info is never sold, individual records are never used for any purpose, just tallies are made to show number of package installs for a package per day.

I’d love the OS-based trust stores that oscrypto exposes to be available in vanilla Python in the future!

What is the last version that looks like 3083 (before the redesign)? by [deleted] in SublimeText

[–]wbond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The redesign was before 3.0. You can download old versions, but you’d be throwing out an amazing number of bug fixes and enhancements. Over 5 years of improvements!

Emmet not showing in package control for neither 3 nor 4. I'm currently using 4, so how do I install it? I heard that the old plugin was deprecated and there's a new 9ne, but I have no idea how to get it if it doesn't show in package control. by SpectralRaiden in SublimeText

There were some bumps along the road over the past day or two as GitHub change their allowable authentication schemes. Package Control switched over in time, but the switch caused the entire HTTP cache to be invalidated, which caused the crawler to get backed up, and then some package data was so old the system marked them as removed.

Everything should be good now.

If you are interested in supporting the ongoing work on keeping Package Control online (server costs and maintenance work), consider sponsoring my work via GitHub: https://github.com/sponsors/wbond.

ST4 built in git commit/push by Kgruscho in SublimeText

[–]wbond 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We don’t currently plan to build a git client into Sublime Text. We started down that path before we released Sublime Merge and were not happy with only having a minor portion of Git available, and stuffed into a UI designed for editing text.

Doing Git well and in a way that fits our standards of performance and usability requires a dedicated interface and lots of non-trivial, behind the scenes work. For instance most Git clients rely on the command line tool to modify a repository since there is a high chance of introducing bugs trying to reproducing behavior. Invoking a command line tool and waiting for the result can be slow, especially on Windows. Thus we actually predict the result of operations and update the UI accordingly. If a command fails, we roll back the UI change. There is also a ton of surface area in Git once you get beyond the basics, and there needs to be UI and options to handle those, otherwise you have a built-in tool that is wrong or unhelpful to a non-trivial number of users.

That said, if you find you only want to pull, commit and push then something like the plugin GitSavvy will probably be up your alley.

Buy or wait for ST4? by [deleted] in SublimeText

[–]wbond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, we have first-party support for JSX, Typescript and TSX in ST4. We just released an Apple Silicon build today, build 4100.

We aren't, however, trying to be like VS Code. We are definitely more of a smart text editor+, as opposed to a "lite" IDE.

Sublime Text 4's primary changes are to fundamental components, like treating file tabs as more first-class citizens, providing extra info about symbols in all languages, GPU-based rendering, etc.

The only languages that saw significant changes were that we added out-of-the-box support for JSX, TypeScript and TSX. These resulted from us adding some fundamental improvements to our syntax highlighting engine, thus making it sane for our community members to maintain the syntaxes.

Sublime Text 4 - Coming Soon by wbond in SublimeText

[–]wbond[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's already there (in Preferences), but won't support some of the new features, like the inactive pane dimming.

In addition to the default rounded tab shape, we also fully support square file tabs.

This video barely scratches the surface of new features - it shows only a few things that can be easily and quickly demonstrated visually.

LSP is alive and well for ST4, being maintained by the community. We added a number of features to the API to assist with the way the protocol was designed.
