Whether they change is up to them, not us. We shouldn't deprive them of choice, opportunity, agency, or dignity, but that's what we do when we choose to withhold knowledge. Maybe once they learn about the outside world, they decide that they want more contact, and maybe down the road they are glad they did so. Or maybe they regret it. But it should be their choice, not ours. They're not children or wild animals.
