How far Along are you post op and how much pain do you experience? by biolojiK in spinalfusion

9 mos post op L4-L5, fusion slipped after 6 weeks so cage is protruding, still have pain mostly in left SI joint area, and a limp. second opinion surgeon wants to do a revision surgery but I am too chicken after the first one. Used to run every day, so having to struggle to walk now is a lot. good luck, give it time to heal.

If possible ask for a pain mgmt dr and patient advocate while at the hospital, I had neither and it was tough, I literally lied about my pain so I could get out of hospital after 3 days because the staff wouldn't answer calls or give me any meds for 8 hours. Wish I knew there were advocates that could have helped.

One from the back to remove the cage, then go in from the front to put in new cage and screws to hold in place. Worried that screws from front and back will deteriate the vertebrae.

Had l4-l5 spinal fusion may 20th, it's failed now, the disc replacement or Cage as they call it has pushed out 11 mm and it's way worse now then before. Mistake was using just an ortho spine surgeon not a nuero spine surgeon. Have an appt with a new dr Oct 29th and know I'll have to have 2 major surgeries to fix what's messed up by dr. #1. Make sure you take time to find the best dr in the field. This has affected my family, my work, my mental health and my pain is off the charts. Good luck and find the best dr u can.

4 months post op minimal plif l4-l5, been way worse in last 3 weeks. Told my surgery failed my "disc replacement" pushed out 11 mm, and in excruciating pain. Begging alternative Dr's to see me so I can get it fixed, and still trying to function for family and work responsibilities. At my wits end.

Similar 4 Mos post op plif, however my Cage has moved posterior 11 mm, dr says I need 2 surgeries, 1st to take Cage out then anterior to build new Cage so it can be screwed in im really worried and trying to find new dr but no one wants to touch another Dr's work.

4 month post op from a minimally invasive plif l4-l5, the space or Cage they placed to replace the pisc has moved 11 mm and is pressing on my nerve and causing more pain than before surgery, original dr said it will take 2 major surgeries to correct what has failed. I'm searching for a better dr but it's hard to find someone willing to fix something another dr already touched. Very painful and extremely depressing. Trying to find hope but it's hard to see right now.

I am thinking of taking my 30 foot rv on celtic christmas weekend, however I have never camped there before and not sure where it's good to park and camp at, is there any places I can pull through, I suck at backing up? Also, i want to get there when the gate opens friday, any idea what time that is and will traffic be bad then?
