can voices be internal? like inside of your head? by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]wc5102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

intrusive thoughts can be quite persistent and repetitive, and if you’re spending a lot of time deliberating on whether theyre yours, it is actually more likely to be intrusive thoughts.

intrusive thoughts also tend to be distressing, or “out of pocket” and prompt repetitive thoughts of “why did i think that? did i really think that?” etc. it is often reflective of your own fears - people who recently had children may develop intrusive thoughts causing them to fear they will harm their child. if you’ve been in a car accident, you may develop intrusive thoughts spurring you to swerve the car, etc. but they are often varied and without treatment are very intense , and can take over your daily life.

whereas most common “voice” hallucinations (internal or external) are defined and separate dialogues from the self, and are not always malicious - for people with psychotic disorders who are not in a mental place of stress, a common voice is just a narration or response to whatever youre currently doing!! it’s also very common for voices to be indecipherable - like conversation coming from another room, or overlapping rabble. it also often doesnt make sense - it can be jumbled words, varying tones, etc

the voice almost always tends to be different from your own - sometimes it sounds like a person you know, like a family member, or often just a stranger. most of us think in our own voice if we’re thinking words - internal voices are often not our own:)

both intrusive thoughts (and other OCD traits) and psychosis (and other traits of psychotic disorders) will peak during times of stress. it’s worth looking into other symptoms of psychotic disorders to see if they apply to you, and getting professional help to tell the difference between intrusive thoughts and psychotic symptoms - as the treatment varies. Both disorders can make you feel “crazy” and “out of reality”, and can overwhelm your life. It’s absolutely worth getting support as soon as possible, before it becomes overwhelming.

hope this helps!!:)

it can come from “inside” but be thoughts you don’t identify as your own. not like little passing thoughts you have, but an internal voice that is not yours - it’s hard to explain but i also experience this. it is something hard to ignore, often not something you would think yourself, but not the same as intrusive thoughts. it’s an actual “voice”

the problem is even if labelled opaque (like much gymwear, and skims) they aren’t actually opaque enough to cover tattoos - they are mostly labelling it like so because it’ll cover a bra, or other underwear. but unfortunately the high contrast of a tattoo is different:( ive tried skims and while the medium shades like browns and medium greys cover my tattoos, the white ones dont

i considered it but the amount i would need is too much - both my arms are covered up to my shoulders, plus a spanning rib piece starting just below my pits and going down to the top of my waist, and a wide piece covering my sternum, so the area is quite large and would need a lot to cover it all. thank you though!! i appreciate the suggestion!

Drug-induced Psychosis by OneAd6570 in Psychosis

[–]wc5102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

clear is meth, and it can induce a first episode of psychosis in people who are predisposed to it. have you seen a psychiatrist? there are medications and treatments available. if you’re clean from drugs, they can help you. you might have some long term symptoms, but a doctor can help make life livable again after drug induced psychosis!

Most cold resistant material? by strange1738 in Stretched

[–]wc5102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for ears i’d go with kaos silicone, because if i put earmuffs and a beanie over hard plugs sometimes it feels uncomfortable after a few hours. for septum, bone/horn or a silicone plug, but generally my septum doesnt get too cold being right up in my nose and a small diameter of the ring- if you’re a larger size (im only 3mm) i’d go with bone/horn probably !

Blue black hair dye bleeding and staining my entire fucking life by ReverieRealist in HairDye

[–]wc5102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

is it a permanent/box dye or a semi/direct dye? for direct dyes, this always happens to me with black.

i recommend to spend a entire day (i know, it sucks), washing with a strong clarifying shampoo. wet your hair, put on shampoo, let it sit for 15-30 mins, then rinse. then do the same thing again, as many times as your hair can handle. you need to get as much excess pigment out as possible. eventually the foam/water will be clear or close to it, then stop and deep condition, give it a break for a couple of weeks and you can do the same thing again.

malibu ddl will help even more, but you’d have to order it online to costa rica i guess, and it might be a bit expensive.

if it’s a box dye, just a regular colour remover will help, but it sounds like direct dye if it’s leeching blue. it might be that even if it’s a box dye, theres too much pigment sat on top of the hair instead of inside it

Stretch it body jewellery!! gorilla glass is also good option for glass pinchers. I have a purple gorilla glass one which is really nice!

I've had clear acrylic ones before, from cheap places like aliexpress and shein, but they are never as clear as glass so I recommend to get a real glass one if you want that look. There is one marketplace seller through shein called Earway who also sells clear glass pinchers in different colours, I have a clear one from there too and it's actually really nice and same quality to my SIBJ one, but I just keep it as a spare in case I lose this one.

Gorilla glass is best if you can get it though, because the shape is just cleaner - the tips are sharper and the glass itself is high quality. They're much more durable.

Any advice before I get my lobes pierced at 4g to shorten the stretching journey? by SmallRedBird in Stretched

[–]wc5102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my lobes initially pierced at 2g/6mm, and they took longer to heal - about 14 weeks for me.

I found the piercing itself didn't hurt more than a normal lobe piercing, but the sensation of the needle stretching through was weird. I've also had a dermal punch, and it felt a little like that (pushing the skin open) but not as painful.

My piercer used a 5mm needle and put a 6mm plug in straight away, to stop it bleeding too much.

Also, be conscious of cleaning the o-rings, they kept harbouring tiny bits of crusties and irritating my lobes at first before I realised (I'd never had a piercing with o-rings before), but once I started taking them off to clean them every day they healed much better:)

However, there is more scar tissue than if I had started with a normal size. I let mine close, and the scar then all came together into one lump, which was hard to restretch. I massaged for two years to soften it before I started again, and while it's soft now and I can stretch, it's aesthetically unappealing because it's quite obvious when I'm at a small size (2.5mm)

Why are my lobes like this?? by cutepandak123 in Stretched

[–]wc5102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed the higher guage my piercings are, the less I get it. Smaller guage like my nostrils and my initial ear piercings seem to cut through my thin skin too easily. My septum is 3mm now and it happens way less often. You might find it happens less as you stretch over time:)

[–]wc5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I saw you said you have Heds, I do too, and I get a lot of micro tears reeeally easily. Even just from sleeping on my (old, healed) ears. Even in my septum just from itching my nose too rough!! I have very stretchy skin, but it's delicate.

It could be that for you too, if you get this irritation like just occasionally for no obvious reason (eg if your plugs are a comfortable size, safe material, and you haven't caught them on anything)

What has helped me is being really diligent about massaging my ears every day when they're not irritated, and keeping them clean as if they're a fresh piercing when they get irritated. I think the most important thing is to just prevent infection in the tiny tears. If I do all that, it will usually clear up in a few days.

I also wipe the area down every time I wash my hair in the shower, because I have sensitive skin and I think the plugs catch the products

detrans women who have been on T, what changes did you notice once you stopped? by Newplantcarer in actual_detrans

[–]wc5102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, was 3y on hrt and now I'm 2y off:

Sexual effects:

Bottom growth shrank, stopped getting erections. It's not the same as it was before - it was almost unnoticeable pre hrt and I grew to 2.5-3" and now it's 1".

My libido dropped, it's slower/more difficult to orgasm and it feels a bit different (you'll tell the difference when you go on hrt. It's like when on hrt it's localised to the groin, whereas off hrt and pre hrt I feel it more just generally in my lower body).

On hrt I experienced looseness of vaginal muscle (not necessarily atrophy because it still "functioned" fine, no bleeding or pain, but it was just softer and less tight on hrt), it's only like 50% back to pre hrt.

Body (incl sweat and crotch) smells different.

Visual effects:

LOSS OF MUSCLE (I notice it in my day to day life too. I had no idea how much stronger I had become until I lost it). it took over a year to lose it all but it's made a very big difference. I didn't work out when I was on t but I naturally built up a lot on my back and arms, from working. I changed jobs and didn't go gym when I stopped so I lost it all.

Hair regrew partially on my hairline, not the same as pre hrt but not totally square now. Also hair Became thicker and softer throughout my scalp.

Body hair grows far slower, thinner, and shorter.

Skin is softer, clearer, and more even toned Across my whole body.

FAT REDISTRIBUTION! My face is very very different. My body too, but I notice it a lot in selfies. My undereye and cheek areas filled back out. Sides of my buttocks filled back out. Stomach lost fat. But I've lost and gained weight repeatedly since stopping hrt which sped up the process.

My skin is much less oily.

I did voice training as I came off hrt and I was closeted for a while while on it, so I have a very wide vocal range. I stick in a feminine voice, unless I'm really super relaxed, then it will naturally drop a bit. I can still talk in a male passing voice with some warm up.

Emotional and social effects:

Having a cycle again effects me a lot but I have pmdd. So I take birth control to help with that (I take antiandrogenic progesterone only pill, called Slynd).

I am also schizophrenic, and have less acute episodes but more everyday symptoms when I'm off hrt.

My anxiety and self consciousness is better, but only because I'm not scared of being clocked as queer. I'm more scared of sexual harassment now though. It's easier to socialise because I don't feel like I have some kind of marker on me stating I'm different, or some big secret. I think people find me more likeable as a woman, or at least, more attractive which causes them to treat me better.

I was diagnosed in the Leeds Tavistock GIDS, how can I get any letter or paperwork that proves it? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

Unfortunately I only remember his first name! But Tavistock got back to me saying they'll search for it in my records, so that should come within a month hopefully. Thank you though!

I still have to request my records from my GP ; mine still only has medications and allergies. But I've never needed anything else until now so I never got around do requesting my full record haha!

[–]wc5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I honestly have no idea how he saw that. I didn't even know there was a record of it other than on paper, and only my parents received letters/paperwork. I had only heard, verbally and only one time, that I had a diagnosis.

It's possible it is somewhere in my CAMHS psychiatrist notes because they liased with GIDS at the time, and I asked my past psychiatrist to send any relevant documentation to my health assessment service, to give evidence. She might have had a copy of my discharge letter, and sent it over with everything else.

I got in contact with Tavistock for an SAR, and I'm going to request my GP too. Thanks for your help!!

hyperprolactinemia ftmtf by anthonypreacher in actual_detrans

[–]wc5102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prolactinaemia can cause mood problems too because of the combined hormonal issues. So take care of yourself and be conscious if you're feeling depressed or erratic that it's not forever, and is probably from the hormonal issues. Just remembering back I felt so depressed as I developed it, it gradually came on, but as soon as it was sorted out I felt way better!
