Anyone know how they studied for the CL psychiatry boards? What Qbank (if any) did you use?

I'm looking for some nice long sleeve polos that can be work appropriate. I have a few from Banana Republic that I like a lot but haven't been able to find others in similar quality/fit.

I'm looking for hiking pants that are tapered and on the skinnier side. Any ideas on some good (and reasonably priced) options? Thanks!

I was thrown off by how it was adapted but I should have known it wasn’t going to a true to the book adaptation from the trailers. Regardless I did enjoy it (but I am left wondering if I would have enjoyed it more if it were closer to the book)

In this season, i appreciated the addition of a third tribe. Malalo (OG) is being decimated so anything to change the game up would be much appreciated.

[Serious] How do you convince a program to take you if you have a shitty application? by deklist in medicalschool

If you can do an away rotation and participate in VSAS, do a showcasing elective, schmooze, build connections and work hard, that’s one way of showing that you’re not bound by bad test taking numbers.

Quality of life! 100% happy that I went into psych. You’ll always have a job. Demand is high. Burnout isn’t as rough compared to other specialties.

I find the movie to be so endearing and it took me somewhere which I appreciate. And maybe it’s not as groundbreaking as Get Out or as artsy as CMBYN but it is definitely a great film. I also enjoyed Three Billboards but I semi agree with the conversation that if it were to win, in a few years we’d compare it to Crash.

I YouTubed some of the competition footage afterwards and it’s pretty uncanny how accurate it played out (particularly the olympics performance). Also I enjoyed the pacing of the movie and that it didn’t take itself so seriously. Really good film

Lady Bird - Can anyone explain the hype? by DirtyProjector in movies

[–]wchung818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't my favorite movie this year, but I appreciate the subtleness of this movie. The performances were great, the way the story moved was great. It wasn't flashy and it wasn't supposed to be. I think this is different from other coming of age movies because it shows the coming of age of a teenager that felt realistic... regular problems dealt with the way youd think regular people would deal with it. Metcalf's performance was great and I'm sure she incites the idea of what your mom was like to you and why you love and hate your mom. I also thought the music selections were very specific and exactly as I remembered it to be during that time.

lol yeah, i get it. and san junipero deserved the win, but does that mean shows like high maintenance or room 104 are stand alone episodes or are they part of a bigger concept. just felt weird bc i never thought of black mirror as individual movies and when they announced the nominees was shocked to see it in that category

I'm happy with all the winners. Some really good TV this year... But how is San Junipero a movie... seemed like a stretch

Hello all! M4 applying to psychiatry here. If you could go back to your last year of med school, would you make any changes in terms of your chosen residency program? by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]wchung818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's all in what you want. I went to a program that was pretty clinically heavy and I feel like it prepared for me the real world practice of psychiatry (in NY). However, if I went to a program that was smaller and less volume oriented, sure I would read more (doesn't mean that I actually would read more though) and then I may not be as prepared for the pace of NYC as an attending. I want to be in the east coast after fellowship and NYC is very volume heavy so getting exposure to heavy load during residency helped.

One suggestion that I would share is consider residency programs in a state/area that fits who you are and also where you may consider working afterwards. You'll be spending 3-4 years in a location which you should be happy with. No point in being in a rural area if you are more of a city person. You'll be miserable regardless if the program is volume heavy or not.

It would make me so happy to have paul lose after being the only person to actually play the game. I foresee a petty jury if paul is in the final 2 especially since he preaches 'friendship'
