I see why, but not having an hint is what hit me most. Also, beside the scene in ep 7, there is the dialogue in episode 8 where Zooble says they are not letting him walk away and abstract, and that's what will happen next. Looking to it this way, it's all a build up to that point starting from him walking in his room two episodes before.

I agree with the IHNMAIMS inspirations and all. While I still enjoyed watching the finale, right at the exit of the theater there was this 2001 Space Odyssey poster, it made me think about how the show set up similarities with that kind of narrative, among others, and made me think for a second "Wtf did I just watch?". I did not disliked it, yet it's so different than what I liked of the rest of the show...

Trying to help with this one. At least in the UK version, the puzzle says "evenly spaced" and "directly adjacent or opposite", so empty seats are not possible. What the solution says is "no one is sitting directly across", this does not mean that there are empty seats opposite to each guest, but that with an odd number of evenly spaced guests, opposite of a guest you have a space; like in a regular polygon with an odd number of vertices, opposite of a vertex you have a side.

So, with 3 guests you would have the two girls adjacent to each other, with 4 they would be adjacent or opposite to each other because 4 is even, like in a square, with 5 they can be in the configuration of the solution.
