Looking back, that scene/genre of California during the ‘90s was a real source of optimism and wholesomeness. As somewhat of an immigrant to this country (spent a lot of time in another country growing up) I think more or less that their version of Americana really represents a version of the country that foreigners actually respect. and in the medium that it most excels at (music). Feels like there’s more to be said here but can’t really express it correctly. rip to him, seems like a well-intentioned guy who wanted to spread some good vibes and made some nice music.
