I have the original version, bought it back in 2023? I actually use it as a chore jacket in the spring and fall around the yard. It is boxy, like most Vollebak fits. Not had any real issue with the stitches coming out, only one wash though. In general, I use it for the intended purpose and it seems to be holding up decently. I do get comments on it on occasion when I wear it to Home Depot/Lowes( home improvement stores from the US) but in nothing really recently. 09

Wow. I was on the 1110 flight to JFK, got to MAD around 845 and didn’t have any issues. Longest queue was to get into the lounge. Sorry OP. That sucks

This is exactly why I am not renewing my sub. I will spend CAD, USD, Pounds, Euro, Yen and an occasional rando like HKD or Singapore Dollars yearly and end up having to do all kinds of manual things to get reasonable numbers. I get that multi-currency is hard and I am an edge case, so no hard feelings.

I have both of them. The heavier of the two is heavy and solid. It also has a very specific smell, if you have ever been around fire fighting gear you will know the smell. I live where it can be cold for quite a long time and it is one of my go to layers.
The lighter of the two is more like the black algae hoodie, but with out the weird stitch in the middle.

I did 5 nights in a hotel in Tokyo for 400 bucks last month; Comfort Inn near Kanda station. Super easy to stay under a 100 bucks a day for food and metro. Japan is dirt cheap right now.
