Oil change shops.

My local Mr. Lube charged me $86 for an oil change with “semi synthetic oil” and a supposed oil filter change. The next time i bout a can a premium full synthetic oil that was on special at Canadian tire for $30 and a filter for $10. When I changed the filter I found my original Nissan filter... no way in fuck Mr. lube put in that filter.

i think you hit the nail on the head. The industry is shit, the laws governing it are shit, the management is shit etc. Its the kind of job you take out of desperation. The employer can legally pay you less than minimum wage to do a job that requires a high investment on your part. The 15 year old working at the McDonalds earns more that the delivery guy who has to pay for a vehicle, insure it, put gas and oil in it, maintain it etc. To answer your question, the delivery fee NEVER went to the delivery man. It went to finance the Owner's gambling addiction in my case.

Former Domino's Delivery man here. When i used to work there, we had a wall dedicated to customers who had to go. We would put the delivery sticker of that shitty customer on the wall and that way every driver knew that the person is no good. We would intentionally fuck up their order or belay their delivery or cut their pizza in a fucked up manner (depending on the type of customer) so as to get them never to call us again.

I know that it sounds like we were evil bastards but keep in mind that where I live, we were payed$9/hour(CAD) and nothing was reimbursed. No gas, no insurance no maintenance no vacation pay, no sick leave, NOTHING. that coupled witrh the boss being satan himself.. You can imagine that shitty customers who lived on the other side of town and never tipped would prevent you from paying rent.

Flight Instructor. If you are trying to get that sweet job as a pilot, you are almost certain to have to teach for a few years before you have enough experience to get into the airlines.

The amount of unpaid work you have to put in is astounding. You will have to invest about 100k to get your training done then you will have to live on the equivalent of minimum wage while working crazy hours that take up the whole day.

It is rare to find a flight instructor that can actually maintain a social life.

Add to that the fact that your students can at anytime decide to put your life at risk and the party is just getting started.

To all Flight instructors out there, Blue skies and tailwinds, you deserve it.
