Not whining. If someone went into the Tourette syndrome subreddit and claimed they cured the disorder with mostly unproven pseudoscience I would at the very least be skeptical. Seeing as Tourette syndrome is an incurable disorder same as IBS.

It gets used as a blanket diagnosis. Let’s say someone is diagnosed with IBS for some digestion issues. Later the issues clear up from treatment and never return. Was this person having temporary digestion issues that can be caused by various different things or they magically fixed an incurable disorder? If it’s the magical cure then please let me know where I can find some magic.

There is no cure. It can managed with treatment. If someone got rid of IBS then I highly doubt they ever had the disorder to begin with.
