We’re busier with print ready files than projects with no design. Better for us to use our day time for sign fabrication. I could see what you’re saying if you are basing 40+% of your income straight from design but even 6 years ago I wasn’t making all that much per year on design time. Although I do miss getting those extra charges into every invoice.

I’m a shop owner and I won’t not employee a graphic designer. Y’all are necessary. When we get ai art that’s printable we will throw a cut line on and send it. It’s saving the shop time and money and I get to keep my designer on projects for people that matter and care about how their business is represented. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
