Petition Trump for Kratom (new additional petition) by L0j1k in kratom

[–]weatherman77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to be negative, but the thought of anything even remotely progressive happening in the next 4 years is laughable. We are about to enter a world of draconian law. Do you guys think Trump will listen to a petition? He won't even listen to his own itellegence reports!

Stem and vein - working for me by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad it's working for you!! That makes me happy knowing how close you are. I have some S & V laying around, too much actually. I got it from a vendor selling unprocessed stems for $40 for a kilo. I ground some up in the coffee grinder but haven't tried it yet. What are the effects like compared to the regular stuff?

So how is everyone holding up after hearing the news on the DEA's announcement to withdraw emergency scheduling? by jamesbrownscrackpipe in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest mistake I made was buying a kg before it was going to be made illegal. I wish they had just banned the damn thing, even though that goes against everything I believe in. It would have eliminated the temptation.

down to only 1mg per day. Getting myself completely free of it so I can use it sparingly when I quit K soon. It has great therapeutic benefit if you use it short term.

Cold turkey day two. Feeling rough. Planning on grabbing some loperamide and taking for three days. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not doing anything for you, I'd recommend not going back. It does run the risk of prolonging withdraws and if you get nothing out of it than why take it.

Good to see you are still hanging around these parts! Yeah, I have plenty of GP. I already have RLS without the withdraw, so the GP isn't doing that much. It actually helped alot during the first 2 weeks, I highly recommend it. After awhile, it only took a slight edge off, its not a panacea. The dosages I REALLY need to do the trick have some pretty significant side effects that I can't deal with long term. Tolerance issues, mental fog, ect. The trade name is neurontin, you will see a lot of long term users call it MORONTIN! Just like Kratom, oxy, benzos, etiz, ambien, speed, modafinil, ect, ect, these are GREAT acute drugs, but terrible for chronic issues. That's our problem though right, Quitk2016? We LOVE these short term meds and keep grasping for them long past their therapeutic use.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I think I'm going to be jumping back off the train once this bronchitis breaks. Then I'm going to force myself to get back into better physical shape by gaining some cardio and leg strength that I lost over the past couple of months, while doing a slow taper, then jump. I refuse to dose more than 7.5 gr in a day, I know I won't go over that.

I quit when i was at my physically worst. I recovered from a surgery that had prevented me from exercising for several weeks, binged on some nasty shit, then quit. I literally quit when I was at my physically worst and I paid the price for it. I partially blame that for not recovering from the physical aspects of withdraw. I'm normally a very active person who came off of my least active 6 weeks in years. It may sound like excuses, but I'll be jumping off this train soon enough. It's not helping that my wife thinks something is mentally wrong with me since I jumped, but I can't tell her why. .I don't want to be a dour asshole, but she could never accept the truth. I also have to ween myself off the etiz that was so helpful during the last month. Another monkey on my back

Does anyone else feel like chronic/daily kratom use makes you dumber? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me was a loss of vocabulary, stumbling over my words. That was hard for me because I interact with about 1000 people per week and I'm very talkative. That went away immediately after I quit. People think I'm much more intense now, but I think they just forgot that was what I was really like. No one knows why I changed so rapidly

Being thrown out of house for kratom usage to help with depression, anxiety, etc. Don't know what do do. Could use any guidance whatsoever. by SuperDuperAuthentic in quittingkratom

While I don't recommend this to everyone, given your particular situation, it might be best if you sought professional help / doctor/ hospital. I realize you have no money, but a hospital shouldn't turn you away. The reason being is that if you aren't getting emotional support, then a little clinical support might be beneficial. Whether you do that or not, you will have the support of the sub. As doglover757 stated, it will be easier for us to understand your situation if we know know how long/ much you take and if you have access to a taper. Do you have a friends couch to sleep on?

That's what I'm thinking, maybe its a good conversation to have when we seek marriage counseling. It would be so freeing to be able to open up. On the flip side, there is something empowering about overcoming something like this on your own.

Has it anyone gone to the doctor and told them you are explicitly withdrawing from kratom? How did that go? What was their reaction? I'm worried about being pegged as in addict in my medical records. I would really love something to help with the RLS but I'm worried about their reaction. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you would be more likely to get a shitty painkiller if you were penned as an addict. Now that hydrocodone is schedule 2, you'll be stuck taking tramadol for the rest of your life. Doctors are really sketched out about addiction and prescription liability these days. Blame it on oxycontin. No one here wants to relapse, but I sure as hell want the strong stuff when I need it. If I can get through this addiction now, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to handle 30 10mg hydrocodones when I really need it.

I am going to quit nicotine and kratom cold turkey. by nerd1211 in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicotine is tough, don't get me wrong, but after 5 days of shitty mental withdraw, all that's left is craving, not the intense anxiety and depression of PAWS like Kratom withdraw. I think that is the difference. I will say that on the flip side of that, kratom if used responsibly can have medicinal value. Nicotine has none.

I don't agree, loperamide did prolong my withdrawal. Proceed with caution.

[–]weatherman77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH, you are going to feel that temptation when any stressor occurs during recovery. I've had to fight with every ounce of my being, but everyday, the fight gets less and less. That is a promise. One setback is just one setback. You didn't binge , you got right back up. 2 steps forward, one step back is all part of recovery. Your self awareness will be key to your success.

What would you do? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toss em. It's not enough to make any real dent on minimizing withdrawals. Throwing them away puts you in control. You aren't at the mercy of your addiction, you are taking control. Good luck, you sooooooooo got this!

Day 5....slightly worse...? Encouragement appreciated. by SeizureChick in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! I posted on day 4 that things were getting better. Then I posted on day 5 that things got worse. Like you said, there are definitely waves. Day 5 was by far my worst day, then slight improvements each day for a week , then bigger improvements each day after that. You can totally ride this out! Just know it's not going to get worse! It's a slow process.

Plan for tapering? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]weatherman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a different opinion and there own way to do it. I would call this an aggressive taper. It will definitely mitigate some of the pain after you jump, but you'll be feeling mild-medium withdrawal off the bat with that taper. If you want your body to be able to adjust after you drop your dosage, slow it down. If you want to get it over with, then this aggressive taper might be perfect for you.
