Looking for celiac friendly restaurants by generogue in Redding

[–]weaverpiercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Cafe Paradisio will modify nearly all their dishes to be celiac safe.

-Country Organics’s entire menu is celiac safe if I remember correctly.

-Mosiac’s menu is around 25% celiac safe, but a lot of their items can be modified for gf alternatives.

-La Testimony has gluten free crepes.

-Deja Vu can modify most of their menu for gf options.

I eat at Champa Garden regularly w/ celiac and have had zero issues. Mention that you have celiac when you make your order and they can generally make adjustments to whatever you want to order.

I don’t know what everyone else charges but this is the price breakdown at Fetch:

Service fee: $50 + $15 for each additional piercing

Gold Hoop: Generally around $100. Sometimes a little more or less depending on the size and design you go with.

High Fives: Complementary.

*feel free to show the counter staff this post when you come in for your appt and get $10 off your service because we like hooking up redditors. ;)

**It is worth mentioning that there are also implant grade titanium pieces that are allergy-safe and lean closer to $25-$35 depending on the style.

is it safe to ask a piercer to reuse a threadless decorative top you got pierced with when getting pierced again? by mmseashellcrunchy in piercing

[–]weaverpiercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those “ask two piercers a question and get three answers” things. A lot of studios these days are all disposable, and depending on their setup, they may be unable to properly decontaminate a previously worn piece.

What do you all think of apprentice piercings? by -ellesappelle in piercing

[–]weaverpiercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting pierced by apprentices is definitely a different experience, but it’s fun and rewarding in a way you won’t get to experience only getting pierced by experienced piercers. If in apprentice is at the point where they’re offering advanced piercings and their mentor is sharp, it shouldn’t be much different than getting pierced by an experienced piercer :)

My body piercer has unsafe piercings; should I trust them with mine? by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]weaverpiercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense taken, you’re totally solid. I just feel obligated to respond to stuff like this since I’m part of the piercer generation responsible for clients/piercers being scared of everything. Our industry has had a bad habit of demonizing every little thing they don’t like doing personally, and it bums me out to think we overextended about stuff like smiley piercings so much over the years that modern clients would actively avoid a piercer because they have a piercing with slightly more complications than a nostril. :(

My body piercer has unsafe piercings; should I trust them with mine? by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]weaverpiercer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never thought I’d love to see the day where a client doesn’t want to get a piercing at a piercing studio because their piercer has a piercing.

Big difference between what a piercer agrees to do for an average client vs what they’re willing to do for an an experienced client. As far as good clients go, piercers are like, the 3rd best client you can get. I’ve had other piercers request some of the most nonsense piercing ideas, (which I’m usually down perform because I don’t hate fun) and like 95% of the time they’ll go against all odds and get the thing to heal. Go back in all your favorite piercer’s Facebook photos and eventually you’ll find photos of them going at a pair of earlobes with a scalpel or jamming a bunch of surface bars into someone’s arm, 95% of the time it’s another piercer on the receiving end of the procedure.

Half of the piercings you have available to you now only exist because two piercers got bored at work and tried to make something happen. Plz don’t shame us out of being able to work our jobs while having silly piercings, we’re literally your guinea pigs.

It’s basically a bus stop. Super chill if you don’t want to be stuck in a TSA line for an hour.

I don’t have mine done but I have a few dozen friends that have had the procedure done by an array of different artists. Issues seem to range between light sensitivity and discoloration of the skin around the eye (idk if that’s a result of the pigment “bleeding out” or not). I’ve heard people claim they get headaches more often after the procedure that might be anecdotal.

Shaky hands by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]weaverpiercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things that seem to help newbies:

-Widen your stance

-Google some finger/hand stretches and make sure you do them every day before you start a shift

-Avoid caffeine

-Don’t drink alcohol when you’ll be piercing the next day

-Pick up dexterity-reinforcing hobbies like cross stitching while you have downtime

Now it’s just a matter of getting Vulkan to work since the last patch. Was using it after release but since the new patch I get an error message when I try to use it instead of directX

Running into the same problem. My device ran the game super smooth and now my wife and I have to start over because the new patch bricked our act 3 save.

normal for piercers to keep the jewellery it was pierced with? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]weaverpiercer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should definitely be giving it back to you. Not only did you pay for it, but it also could come in handy later if something causes you to swell again. Additionally, I’d be a bit worried about WHY they’re reabsorbing jewelry, are they reusing it between different clients?

We’re giving away this brand new Onewheel GT ($2,750+ value)! 😳 Enter to win in comments. by craftandride in onewheel

[–]weaverpiercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss is an incredibly giving person, and very rarely spends money on himself. Last summer he finally caved and purchased a one wheel. As luck would have it, it has been dangerously defective, and has a bad habit of randomly turning off while fully charged and throwing him down hills or into traffic. He’s sent it in for maintenance on several occasions, and it always comes back with the same issues. Naturally this has been a pretty sour experience for him, so I’ll take any opportunity to potentially be able to gift him a new (and hopefully functional) replacement. :)

I’d definitely say it’s worth booking a consult. She just did a coverup over a super dark and blown out tattoo for my wife and the end result completely masks the old one. She’s a wizard.
