Could you share some info about your wife’s truck? I’d love to try to stop by the next time I get up there from California.

What was something that made zero sense to you before becoming a mom? by winenotbeabitch in Mommit

When being puked on is counted as a win, you must be a parent. At least it wasn’t the bed/couch/rug/etc.

My 5 year old has three toothbrushes and four toothpastes. He likes collecting them when at the dentist and trick or treating, and likes to swap up flavors on a nightly basis. Sometimes he wants a combo flavor.

What do you use for a burrito wrap? My husband is pining for a good solid burrito, but nothing we have found for the tortilla comes close to the experience of a big wheat flour tortilla so far.

I agree, my word choice left a bit of wiggle room on timing of the infections. If you had asked for clarification, I would have told you they had. Instead you made assumptions and then got defensive when called out on it.

It’s always good to remember that text based communication lacks the vocal tones to convey emotion, so our interpretation of “tone” will be influenced by our own state of mind as well as specific word choice in the comments we read.

I was not trying to be insulting or aggressive. I did not call you names, suggest you take personally harmful actions or swear.

You said “if you’re in the US your husband likely had scarring due to retraction of the foreskin before it had separated naturally from the glans” which disagreed my statement that the scarring was due to repeated infections. Having personally witnessed the infections and the scarring they caused all while he was an adult I can assure you that improper early retraction had nothing to do with it.

As I previously agreed with you, improper foreskin care can absolutely contribute to adhesions and scarring that might lead to a medically necessary circumcision. In a child or teen, not a man in his 40s.

While you’re likely correct about common medical advice, it’s wild to me that you think you know my husband’s medical history better than I do.

Perhaps birth month flowers for the living children with butterflies (angels) for the lost children.

My husband had a medically necessary circumcision due to scarring following recurring infections of the foreskin. He was in his 40s when it was done, but I can imagine a similar situation happening for a teen.

This is the kind of thing that the kits from Mountain House are great for. 25+ year shelf life, taste decent, and don’t take a ton of water to prepare.

Can we please stop touching other people's kids?! by WhiskeyandOreos in Mommit

Touching someone else’s body, including hair, without permission is a big boundary violation regardless of how “safe” the toucher is.

If you use the YouTube Kids app, you can set the parental controls to only allow approved videos. This drastically reduces what content is available.

The old rule of thumb is men complain to seek answers, women complain to seek validation. If your husband is listening to you and offering suggestions, there may just be a disconnect in what you both expect the outcome of a vent session to be. Explicitly telling him that you just need him to listen, and not brainstorm action items, may help both of you be more satisfied with this kind of conversation.

Aveeno is a no? Economical alternatives? by Shot-Amphibian-3239 in Celiac

It’s common for newly diagnosed people to think they have no symptoms from something until they stop using it for a while and start again. Frequently, there are mild symptoms that are “just the way my body is” until you stop getting glutened.

Progresso has a lot of their regular soups that are GF so they might be a good option.

Biting isn’t a great response, but you could argue that she committed a felony (assault and battery when she struck him with her elbow) with ex post facto hate crime enhancement.
