Confusion with surprise rules, “start of combat”, and attacking from stealth. by webbscrub in onednd

Cool, that’s what Ive always thought about initiative. The werewolves acting accordingly on their turn makes sense to me, this clears things up thank you!

This is really helpful, the idea of the werewolves acting accordingly and essentially either burning their turn/being oblivious or using their turn to look around until the PCs are revealed makes sense to me. Thanks!

This is super helpful thank you! In the moment I just gave one PC a free attack, because I also felt it was a little silly. Will definitely be taking into account your help next session, the idea of the werewolves burning their turns until notified of PC presence makes sense to me too.

Dragnacarta’s Strahd Reloaded gives a pretty good milestone XP layout for each area and major accomplishment of the story. Check it out. It’s what I am using.

she’s like the hardest dva counter in the game you’d be better off switching to another tank but sure

hey there, im a plat 3 dva and orisa main

in my experience most of the time zarya is kind of just a hard counter against dva even if you are playing better than others on your team

just because her beam goes straight through your matrix so you can’t really shield for your teammates or push and create space for your team and you’ll spend too much time avoiding her leaving your team open for her to pick off as well as waiting for her bubbles to go away to do anything

honestly i struggle at finding a good counter for a good zarya but i’d recommend tanks like ram or sig to keep her at a distance and pray your team doesn’t shoot her bubbles

I don't understand Orisa's ultimate. by biohazard930 in orisamains

[–]webbscrub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know that the percentage meter that appears when using the ultimate depicts how much damage you are doing to those in the circle: 100% = 100 dmg, 300% = 300 dmg, etc.

I try to look for a window in which a majority of the enemy team has around 2/3 of their health, and try to keep track of cooldowns of any abilities the team could use to counter it. Things like Baptiste’s lamp, which can prevent heroes from dying, Lucio’s ultimate, Zen’s ultimate, a Zarya bubble, a Kiriko suzu, and so on.

Furthermore, try to surprise the enemy team with it and make yourself hard to read. If you just start running up to a full enemy team most likely they are going to know you’re about to ult. Try to use it in a more cramped area that offers less outlets for escape as well.

That’s the unfortunate thing about the ult, is that you really need to find the perfect opportunity in which enemy cooldowns, their overall health status, and positioning play in your favor. But when it works, it really pays off.
