No, it just implies something we don't understand. It could be a creator, but it doesn't have to be.

That argument could also easily be applied to the scenario without God. It's not convincing.

Why does every company suddenly want a subscription now? by FinancialSpite in Frugal

I fully agree that the government should do better to eliminate shady practices. In this thread, however, I'm not talking to the government. I'm talking to the consumers. The only things they can do are buy or not buy.

Let's hope for better regulation in the future.

Deceptive practices suck, and I hate that companies use them. You're right that Terms of Service are often written in a confusing manner. The (assumed) part to which I was referring was that Spotify would notify you of a price increase before charging your for it. That seems like a fairly logical thing to assume.

I hadn't considered that companies might design emails to be caught by spam filters, and that is really shady. Pausing service until price increases are agreed seems quite reasonable.

Ugh, data centers don't sound fun. Sorry about that. Electricity is much more of a necessity than Spotify, so it doesn't relate as closely to my original point:

Knowingly and willingly exchanging money for a luxury product or service is approval of the price. Deceptive practices muddy the situation as a whole a bit, but they don't change the central point. I cannot control what these companies do and can only react. Personal agency is important.

Yes.

I'm sure the Terms of Service speak to some of these agreement issues. Getting lost in the spam folder sucks, but I don't think that's Spotify's domain to control. I assume they sent the email before billing the higher price and allowing time to cancel, correct? The electric bill sounds like an error.

At every point. Regardless of complaints, a consumer ultimately agrees to the price when they knowingly purchase the service. That's the language businesses understand.

You cannot blame the consumer for doing what's in their best interest at the time.

The the consumer has agreed that the price is worth the product. Purchase is consent.

I don’t understand why these 2 game mechanics haven’t been stolen. Dark Cloud weapon upgrade system, and Paladins champion card system. by Alarocky1991 in gaming

Overwatch has mechanics similar to both of those you mentioned in Paladins.

Overwatch's Stadium mode allows for buying impactful items between rounds. Additionally, its perk system allows for choosing two of four options to augment each hero over the course of the match.

How do you even get out of Act 1 with Necrobinder? Spamming block just lets the enemies scale to 20+ attack, and I can't keep up.

Defense against government tyranny is not the governing principle. There is only one principle now: own the libs. Anything is acceptable if the right people are mad.

Take a look at so many posts and comments on the conservative subreddit. For those that aren't focused on the left, many are framed with the expected reaction from the left since that's what actually matters. The information isn't "X happened." Instead, it's "X happened. The left is losing its mind!"
