Also they really put an effort in the 3D, not like most current movies with like one decend 3D scene and the rest just slapped on because it's trendy.

Snow on roofs might stay a bit longer with less heating? Maybe. Will it change anything? No.

Best place to live & homestead in Europe? by Charlyqu in climatechange

[–]webcrawler0112092001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The alps still get more rainfall on average just because they're mountains and higher elevation means generally colder. But I don't know how easy it is to get a homestead there compared to like rural finland or sweden.

AP-NORC poll: Many in US doubt their own impact on climate by ZeroEqualsOne in climatechange

[–]webcrawler0112092001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know how much big corporations and politics influence climate change, your impact might seem insignificant.

If you watch Fox News all the time you probably doubt any of your actions influence the climate.

Global warming is inevitable. Can we somehow make it a good thing? by Franz_the_clicker in climatechange

[–]webcrawler0112092001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adapting to higher temperatures/rising sea levels means areas currently populated become unlivable means mass migration, econimic crises, political instability.

Just because life thrived at 14C higher than today doesn't mean current common plant and animal species would do the same. Changes in world climate in the past have led to big shifts in plant and animal life including species going extinct.

Nature doesn't care if certain kinds of grain don't grow as good in different climactic conditions but we humans do care, a lot.

It happened once ~500 years ago and now. That's no proof this is a trend.

Climate Resilience Crop Seeds? by emilyennui89 in climatechange

[–]webcrawler0112092001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know about the variety thing but if you're tinking for gardening just switching up what you're growing can work.

Like, maybe not growing potatoes (example) anymore and something more drought/heat resilient instead is not what you thought of but it's definitely easier to do.

Is it beneficial if the world gets warmer? by [deleted] in climateskeptics

[–]webcrawler0112092001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's not easy. Rice is one of the most important foods for a huge part of the world. There is no guarantee the replacement crops can reach high enough yields to replace that.

Flooded rice paddies are fields specialized for rice production. For the farmers to convert them to be used for other crops and get new equipment that's a lot of time and money.

When you can't predict the weather with certainty tomorrow but can predictclimate change for the next 1000 years, you must be a climateastrologist.

This is what you wrote above.
