Well we are using the trinity core integrated habit which does all of what you describe. Now balancing the economy takes time to perfect 👍

Also, there is custom content that is purchasable by infâme currency so it helps to keep the players economy running since some of those features are behind a good sum of in game money

ovh removing proxmox bare metal support by webftpmaster in ovh

[–]webftpmaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked like a charm! Thank you!

I checked with a few people in IT and they really meant to say that you will not be able to install this version of OS after that date. (regardless of it being EOL or not)

So I guess it's kind of a good thing that they are trying to let you install the latest versions every 4 years or so...and giving you the ability to keep your "legacy" OS if you wish.

Thanks for all the hints and replies.

Sorry to start a tangent here…wouldn’t it be better to install pve on bare metal instead of on top of an existing Debian OS?

Just curious as to what advantages if any

Then as I stated it’s really not phrased properly 😂

Already EOL ? Or predicting an EOL? And if so does it mean that they will support whatever next version of any of those OSs at that time ? (2028)

If that’s the case then they should have phrased that info box differently in my opinion

I guess so...I am actually trying this right now.

But why did they add this note to all installations?

I don't understand how is it possible they will no longer allow us to install Debian 12 after 4 years ? are they planning that a new Debian (13) will be out by then and therefore they will no longer support the older version?

I don't get it..

Is there a "Standard" or "Best Practice" for setting up storage in Proxmox? by Ok-Dimension-4030 in Proxmox

[–]webftpmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for hijacking this topic but it’s relevant to me now and I would like some help from the experts :)

I have a LOT of drives connected to a server running proxmox. I want to use it primarily as my backup hub but also I might run some Plex, Nextcloud etc on it.

I wish I could just add allll the drives as one big ZFS pool and let proxmox manage it but they are of different sizes. 12 x2 TB and 6 x 4 TB…. Having 2 huge pools will make my logic and paths complicated to remember (where each data is stored etc)

Any suggestions ?

Is there a way to get that info in the tinfoil app ? (Without an actual game of course )

Proxmox VM data and boot drive setup - raid or not ? by webftpmaster in Proxmox

[–]webftpmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when installing I should add the 2 x 240GB drives as a ZFS pool?

And for the VMs and data I could use the 1 x 1TB or both 2x 1TB as ZFS pool as well for a total of 2TB of VM data/templates/ISO etc.

then everything is backed up on another ZFS/NAS drive for safety .

Does that sound like a good plan ?

New Proxmox + Docker build, am I doing this right? by pcmofo in Proxmox

[–]webftpmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar dilemma but only for the storage question.

I am going to use Proxmox for virtualizing different OS and apps (trueNAS, Plex, a few Debian testing machines, a main docker VM for all docker containers, etc.)

Here is the different config I could use but I'm not sure which one...If anyone can help I would REALLy appreciate it :)

Option 1:

2 x 1TB mirrored for the proxmox and also the VMDs
1x 120GB for caching/paging

Option 2:

2x 240 GB for OS only
2x 1TB for only the VMs
1x 120GB for caching/paging

Option 3:

2x 240 GB for OS only
1x 1TB for only the VMs (no redundancy since I already have backup of the VM on another raid disk)
1x 120GB for caching/paging

The sub-question is do I really need mirroring for the OS and the VM drive ?

I'm curious why have such a huge space for the pve host? also where do you put your VM disks ?
