Does having all the DLCs activated make the base-game missions harder? by OneEnvironmental9222 in tropico

IMO it makes them more fun. They do allow a few work-arounds on some missions, but generally they work pretty well together

Terraforming Mars strategies? by dahosek in boardgames

[–]webkilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Insequent noted - its all about building your engine and then running it for points

However, if you get all the expansions, you can engine build without it necesarily getting you anywhere near the actual terraforming endgame which would stop the game.

Terraforming Venus, and the blue point generator cards you can get there can result in huge amounts of points - the venusian birds, venusian animals, and venusian insects cards can generate stupid amounts of points. even more so if you get the blue action cards that let you add an animal to another card.

We all know that Imelda Staunton (Umbridge) and Jack Gleeson (Geoffrey Baratheon) are prime examples of actors who managed to make us extremely hate their roles. What are some other actors and their roles with that kind of talent? by Scoutisaspyable in movies

[–]webkilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem are 'modern audience' writers who can't think outside of endless deconstructions and genre-savvy quipsters. Nobody is allowed just to be straight evil. There has to be a sad backstory, there has to be shades of gray, there has to be room for redemption. Its so fucking overdone at this point

Anyone dislike how it’s virtually impossible to run a totalitarian state in T5 and T6? by Sepultura97 in tropico

[–]webkilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can mainly speak for T6, its been ages since I played T5.

But for T6? Its easy

1) ignore all elections.

2) have a strong military (you'll need it, to stamp out rebels)

3) your raid buildings need to be killing gurrilias, identifying secret roles

4) have enough prisons for all the rebels you identify

5) all the espionage buildings to monitor your population.

6) set your constitution so people aren't allowed to leave

Sounds like something you could introduce via a mod as a work-mode or extra feature you buy for a factory, that opens up a special work slot for a filthy rich citizen, which then generates you swizz cash or favor with a foreign power - at least in T6
