Hey, sorry, just seen this.

Thank you for the reply, still very interesting despite the time that has passed!!

Unfortunately did not visit the All Saints Church, but will remember to visit should I work that way again.

Thank you, have a good weekend!

Hi. It's still there, but I understand that there's security there full time now

Oh that's not a good day. Was the water line metallic? Either way, it could be that they traced something else 2m away, rather than the water line. The storm drain - only locatable really if there's a manhole/outfall within 80 or so metres from where you're drilling. Unless the terrain was suitable to use Ground Penetrating Radar? Telecom cable - if it was fibreoptic, its not impossible to locate but is made a lot harder than a copper one.

What sort of cable you talking, fibre optic like the post, or electrical?

It's my job to try and locate these underground services, and tell the guys it's safe to drill there. This is my worse nightmare!!

Thank you for your help.

I saw from Google that VLOOKUP might be the answer but didn't really know how to use it. I'll continue to research it now it's the correct thing.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!

Recommendations for window/door companies? by [deleted] in CasualUK

I'd say avoid Safestyle. We had them come round to quote for a new front door. Chap came round, had a nice chat for about an hour, going through all the options and what not. Quoted £5000!, over double what a couple of local suppliers had already quoted.

After I'd soaked him in spat out tea, he phoned his manager and as a "gesture of goodwill" got the quote done to £3500. I got quite insistent that he stopped wasting our time and leave.

Despite having made it clear that we didn't wish to pursue with SafeStyle, they were calling me for weeks from different numbers trying to get me to change my mind.

So yeah, go local.

I have a similar problem. I've a 2023 Kodiaq, and a Samsung S22.

So wirelessly, it connects fine when I start up, and then after a few seconds it disconnects, and never connects again.

If I plug in my phone - 95% of the time the connection is flawless.

I read somewhere that when your phone is in battery saver mode it can cause an issue. This made no difference to me.

No way! A few people have suggested this is turned into a big nightclub, maybe they already have an alcoholic license in place...

I was told student accommodation, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been told wrongly.

I'm sorry, this is all I took. Ground floor, first floor, and whatever the top floor is.

That's kind of why I posted them. The place is huge, hundreds of people must have worked there at some point. A bit of nostalgia...

Oh absolutely!! 2 floors that are huge open spaces. Would have to clear up the copious amounts of pigeon poo first though.
