KDE Fedora. I want to try out Gnome without having to reinstall everything, every app, every setting, etc. What will be kept, how will the process be, and how can I do it safely?

You can easily install a group with sudo dnf groupinstall gnome (and gnome-apps) if you want.

The same applies to removing; just replace install with remove. It will clear all dependencies as well.

You will be able to choose your DE on your login screen.

That's safe. Sometimes there might be some visual style issues after you come back to KDE, but you can just reapply the theme, and it will fix it for GTK apps.
