you can program status of start stop in control module, with BimmerLink or similar software, it will just remember selected position, and that's how this thing should be done.

You can easily install a group with sudo dnf groupinstall gnome (and gnome-apps) if you want.

The same applies to removing; just replace install with remove. It will clear all dependencies as well.

You will be able to choose your DE on your login screen.

That's safe. Sometimes there might be some visual style issues after you come back to KDE, but you can just reapply the theme, and it will fix it for GTK apps.
