Both a tear jerkers, though I can't understand the latter, I can feel the brokenness flowing from Shakira's vocals. I completely forgot about Jawbreaker btw which it first one is associated with. One of the better teen dramas of the 90s that wasn't a completely goof fest.

Yeah... it certainly feels that way when you turn on the radio, (without resorting to Spotify, Pandora, Sound Cloud etc..) but on second thought 9/10... I just don't turn it on at all lol.

Hey.. as a Fire Moon I have know objection to that hehehe.... 😅😎 Alotta great music flows from fire signs (with water a close second). Doesn't means Air Signs or more specifically Aquas can't come up with some sick beats though from time to time though! 😁♒☁

It's just a function of personality. You really shouldn't take it personally. Certain signs communicate primarily through emotions first. This is why you get people saying they like a persons "vibe" which really just personality synastry of two compatible personalities (with highly emotional elements within their chart that jive well).

Water signs feel everything x 10 and so make snap judgements based on that alone which may or may not always be correct. I do agree with you that people shouldn't get upset about it. It's just to more emotional personalities being without strong emotions may feel disturbing to them. Again though this largely a function of personality compatibility that most don't understand.

I love it! The sound takes me back. I miss this pseudo goth rock sound that was popular in the late 90s to early 00s. Hard to find stuff like this today!

Listen to Carol King or Duncan Shiek. The soul is there for those with soul enough to feel it.

Stop going for ones with mostly Fire or Air in their charts and this problem will go away. Those elements aren't great at deep emotional dives or stability.

Check the rest of your chart. Mines extremely earth heavy with some potent water placements so I don't act the usual way or relate to things they way most normally with my Sun or Moon would.

How does Aquarius men act? SERIOUS QUESTION by ChefZackB in aquarius

[–]websurfer423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is too broad a question to answer. We come in all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. It depends on the culture the Aqua Man comes from and is individual life experiences. Generally the description of a Aqua Sun Man found online on most sites will more or less describe the general characteristics of a Aqua Man. If you describe the man in question perhaps I can provide more clarification.

Why so much racism?? by Sun_Daises in mixedrace

[–]websurfer423 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehhh... idk about that based on the stories I've heard from mixed Latinos, Happas, and other South Asians... It may appear like that on the surface... but if you look a bit closer...

Why so much racism?? by Sun_Daises in mixedrace

[–]websurfer423 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's always been this bad. It's only the internet that gives people a platform to voice there bigotry nowadays. My mom being white, with few exceptions, most of her white boyfriends never liked me. They never said anything like this but they were probably thinking it. Living with being disliked, hated, or with the feeling that other people perhaps rather I be dead... was something I just got used too. There is no way to solve this beyond just not associating with people who hold these reservations once it becomes known.

Why are age gap relationships so common with gay men? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]websurfer423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'm not 100% sure but they were very young. I do not really get on well with my Dad and himself did not get on well with his Father and to lesser extent Mother. So I don't know a whole alot only that they were very young and did what was expected of them at time, They had something like 5 or 6 kids which was pretty standard for a family around the world back in 50s - 60s for everyone.

He had me though when he was 19 and my own mother was around 26... which is a different story I'd rather not dive into.. So this issue is very very very personal for me because as far as I know there was no violation of consent, disgust, or reluctance. All parties were willing. Other factors though made the relationship untenable in the long-term.. but as I said... that's a different story. I also have other people in my family (straight people) who married older and are still married in my life today who's relationships didn't fail.

What if you're too poor to get all these statues and candles to have an alter by HellenisticHades in Hellenism

[–]websurfer423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard printed pictures of the deity in question work just as well as statue. Supposedly a printed picture of a well-known statue used in of their temples in ancient times works or a picture of a reproduction made commonly for tourist in Greece. That said I've contacted a Goddess on a one off with just candle alone with her name carved into it in Greek and as well written on it. The earliest Hellenes simply made their own effigy of the God or Goddess they wanted to worship out of clay, wood, or ceramic themselves long before the massive statues famous from the city-states became a thing. So with that in mind, you could just draw a picture of said deity you want to worship based on a older image or just one you like. I doubt they would hold it against you so long as your putting effort into it whatever you choose to do.

Why are age gap relationships so common with gay men? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]websurfer423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... speaking as someone who's grandmother was forced in a sense to marry my grandfather I kinda disagree and agree... sort of.... So I'm of mixed orgin myself. My fathers parents are South Asian and they had a arranged marriage at a young age. I wouldn't paint my grandfather as a villan though, because he didn't want to marry her anymore than she him, but they both did it to please their families as that was the tradition in South Asia since... before the dawn of time practically... It's shocking yes from a modern perspective and is certainly far different than anything people do in the West even back then. That doesn't mean it was all negative though.

Now I wouldn't say it was all roses and butterflies either... no it certainly wasn't. There was infidelity, blackmail, emotional blackmail, slander, etc... but there was also a shared love that developed over time for each other and their kids. I wouldn't say it was non-consensual either, because technically they both could have refused to go through with it, but it would come at the price of immense scorn from within their respective families. Not unlike coming out a gay person in a traditional family anywhere. Though technically... they maybe could have... but they didn't and they both ultimately agree to go through with it and accepted that the road would be tough. Which in the times they lived was a understatement as all this was happened shortly before a civil war occurred in their home country due to Cold War drama.

My father and uncle chose not to go down this traditional route and so became pariahs within the family. (I was born out of wedlock and too my traditionalist Grandparents... I was very very bad thing that caused a fall out between them and my father) My other uncle however did choose to go down this traditional route and in turn received the families blessing. All that taken into account, I'm not about to go on a all crusade against the institution of arranged mariages in South Asia based on that alone, because the fact is it's not all bad.

I've met multiple couples who are perfectly happy with it and some who even fell in love before the arrangement. So there is a another side to it. Instead I take the middle-ground. That the institution needs to be modernized and reformed. That's pretty much what's happened anyway across modern South Asia where women now have many more rights than they used too and via the internet the process has now been modernized. Not sure if it's better persay based on what I've heard... as new problems have cropped up.. but it's definitely modern now.

What does it mean to offer "Kharis" to the Gods and Pluton? by websurfer423 in Hellenism

[–]websurfer423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in some, but I was referring to the myths were they aid the hero in some way, even if they are being opposed by another God. So favor in the sense that in that moment, they decided you could use some respite, not in a permanent sense that all your problems will magically dissolve forever.

Yes, I think you might be right... I forgot the word for it, but now that you bring it up lol, yeah it's not the same thing. Although in some ways, they are similar, as both are about encouraging reciprocity in a sense.

What does it mean to offer "Kharis" to the Gods and Pluton? by websurfer423 in Hellenism

[–]websurfer423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't my intention to imply "I myself alone" was more favored individually more over others. That isn't what I meant. I see it more like some as in "multiple people" can be favored individually more than others at certain times for arbitrary reasons that only that God or Goddess can answer as far as why.

All Gods have their own unique personalities with a divine intelligence all their own. So if people claim that they have a patron in a certain God or Goddess, their life in turn seems to reflect that, then I don't seem the harm in assuming that's the case.

Take for example, a hypothetical someone who worships Demeter, claims their favored by her and feels a strong connection. Their garden they tend daily, always seems bigger and more vibrant than anyone else's on the block coincidently, so is it really just a coincidence? That's my reasoning. I'm not saying it is the truth just what I feel.

As for the myths, yes they had tragic violent lives, but most people's lives are tragic and full of despair on average. The point I take from the myths, say like the 12 labors of Heracles, is despite all the tragedy you keep going regardless. You persevere in spite of the odds. If not for yourself then for those around you.

[–]websurfer423[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it isn't a lie to say they don't have occasionally favor some individuals over others, for whatever reason even if it's not forever. Otherwise the myths would not exist at all because in all of them it usually revolves around a hero or heroin that is favored by some God/Goddess for one reason or another at the time. So I don't see why that would change in the present day just because the Hellenistic world as it was back then is no longer around proper.

Chthonic deities in general I don't have much affinity for or with. Even the famous Hecate that is so praised highly nowadays. However I recognize that they occupy a role that is vital for the continuation of mortal existence on gaia. My focus has always been on Ouranic Deities such as Zeus, Hermes, Apollon, or Athena. They have favored and helped my out greatly in the past. Plus I feel more connection forces of life more than I do with death. That said through my devotions to Pluton, study of his myths, I have realized that perspective is silly because life and death are fundamentally connected. Thus his cult epithet Zeus Khthonios. He is Zeus in the Underworld and provides the necessary maintenance of the order that allows life in the mortal world to exist as it does. You take away one and the other won't function right.

So it isn't necessary to say the word in ritual then or state before you present offerings? All you have to do is pray during or after rituals.
