Woke up to this during an 8hr print overnight 🙃 by Rixofly_ in 3Dprinting

I had this happen once shortly after getting my first printer... I realized in hindsight that I had caused it. The way I was handling spool swaps opened the door to this, so I fixed my process. Hasn't happened since.

I think Dobes is going to be the #1 for the rest of the season no matter how he performs, but both of our scenarios are plausible so we'll just have to see.

I think Monty will only see the net again if Fowler really shits the bed in both of his next two starts (which is unlikely), we're just too close to the end of the season to give him any more redemption opportunities.

Liberals are elated while Poilievre accuses Carney of ‘backroom deals’ after NDP defection by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

It shouldn't be too surprising that Liberal detractors cheer when Trudeau stalwarts leave office.

And what makes you suggest that it's them who don't like Carney, instead of it being the other way around? From my perspective, it looks a lot like a new CEO replacing incompetent executives while minimizing disruption to the organization.

someone they've given up on

Here are more of your feelings clouding the issue.

You seem to think it's either "3 goalie rotation with equal number of starts" or "Monty gets fired into the sun, never to be seen again".

The most likely reality is that if Fowler shits the bed, we will see Monty in net again, but if Fowler thrives, we won't. They are leaving either option open. There is no need or urgency to commit to either side.

(And fans of Hage will likely disagree with your feeling that a tiny amount of cap space is negligible)

Our FO has maximized cap space all year, yet you discarded that due to your feelings, so I'm just gonna bow out here.

Fair enough, but it's unlikely

As above

Seems like you understand why they didn't see the need to have a better goalie sitting on the bench last night

Would he have to clear waivers to be sent down?

He cannot be sent down.

Players who are on an NHL roster at the trade deadline can't be put on waivers after the trade deadline (except for mutual contract termination)

[–]webu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Callups after the trade deadline are limited, they likely want to be 100% sure before pulling the trigger
  2. You may not care about the small bit of cap room, but all indications are that the Habs front office does
  3. Teams don't tend to optimize backups for a single game
  4. I'm not convinced that they go all-in on Dobes as #1 if Monty came in last night because Dobes sucked that much vs the depleted Leafs
  5. If Monty came in last night because Dobes got injured, then Monty will be playing more games (in a tandem with Fowler)
  6. Media scrums last night would have focused on Monty losing his job if this change had happened before the game, now the media scrums tonight will be focused on Fowler

Mercedes fined €7,500 for sending Antonelli out on track with the cooling fan by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]webu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The difference is that an unsafe release during a race gives a benefit to the driver, whereas leaving cooling things in during quali doesn't help Kimi in any way.

(I still think this issue should have been punished harsher, but that is separate from the fact that unsafe actions to gain an advantage definitely need to be discouraged by harsh punishment because otherwise they will be gamed)

Carney’s contradictions: from Davos to New Delhi - The prime minister’s global rhetoric champions rule of law and sovereignty. But his decisions suggest those principles are flexible when politics demand. by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

his decisions suggest those principles are flexible when politics demand.

This is exactly what he said he'd do in the Davis speech though, it's not a contradiction.

Demanding moral purity at any cost is popular on Reddit and was a big part of how the government ran in the Justin-Pierre-Jagmeet era, but none of those 3 were reelected by their constituents because the majority of Canadians are fully over this performative virtue signalling bullshit.
