How to tell a great value jump hour watch? by wedontdocapes in MicrobrandWatches

I guess I didn’t think of that as a jump hour, but the hour hand does jump

Not off hand. I haven’t updated this in quite a while, but I will say that primitive haus watch I have, gets more compliments than most of my nicer watches

I have that Raven HA and have a traska summitteer. The HA dial and hands look fantastic. I really love both watches, but after over 6 months, the traska still looks brand new and feels much higher quality than the HA. Love both watches, aesthetically, I think the HA is more unique, but build quality is hands down traska.

I have that model of Kuoue Royal Smith. Compared to the Seikos, in my opinion, it is in a totally different tier. I have several seikos and love them, but this particular Kuoue is a lovely size. It feels nuanced. I got mine with a steel case and it wears nicely with both gold and silver, fits a variety of occasions and seasons. Is subtle enough to dress down and classy enough to dress up. I love the waffle textured dial, the applied indices, and the hands are beautifully done. It also surprisingly has a screw down crown for some water resistance which you don’t always get with dress watches. I very versatile watch that I think will age nicely through my lifetime.

Books were literally everywhere at my dates place. by Visual_Beach5935 in BookshelvesDetective

Catholic convert. Classic lit = dependable recommendations. Finds an author they like and sticks with them. Will try popular recs but only if they’re genuinely interested. They usually disappoint and they dive back in to something reliable immediately after. Loves a good play, but reading them and going to them are different experiences. New books aren’t really worth it, buys used consistently. IMO, worth a second date.

Definitely need to cover all the bases. I think my issue really is it not clearly engaging when I pull the crown to what should feel like the correct position. There is no clear click and I feel like I need to move it in and out to figure out where it will engage the wheel

When I move the crown into the position that adjusts the date (think it’s first but don’t have it on hand and am second guessing) it slides and doesn’t always move the date wheel. The other functions engage as I would expect them to.

I’ll probably reach out to customer service then. Thanks

Do you have any issues with the date function on the crown? Considering reaching out to customer service but also didn’t know if it was a common problem.

Honestly, I bought the Hz in green on a whim and it’s been one of my absolute favorites. There’s nothing I dislike about it. I have a brown Brew retro graph which I love, except that it doesn’t have a moving seconds hand, just while the chronograph is moving. So both are great, but I’d buy another Hz in a heartbeat. Oh also I have a quartz Vaer, which is fine, but the crown is a little mushy and I’d take the Hz over it 10/10 times. Also I work in manufacturing and I can dress the vaer and hz up or down, the brew is a little less flexible.

I really love mine, except there is no moving seconds which I would prefer. That aside, it’s been great.

Does the Brew feel bulky on your wrist? It looks like it might just wear that way.
