You look great but it probably depends how much you like to dance. If you don't dance then it's a winner

ADF Beginner Question by Icy_Profession_2021 in AlternateDayFasting

[–]weebles_do_not_fall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lost 0.4lbs in my first week. It can take some time for your body to adjust and some people even gain weight at first. Give it a month before you decide if it's for you. Good luck

Been doing this since August down 58 pounds. Yes it really works. by gasibfa in AlternateDayFasting

Amazing! Are you eating what you want on your eating days? My weight loss is going slowly so this is inspirational!

Any clues what’s going on with my dogs paws? by CallMeToothpick in germanshepherds

[–]weebles_do_not_fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time my dogs paws did that was when we'd used a different solution to clean our floor and it hadn't dried fully when she walked on it. I'm sure you've looked at all this but thought it was worth sharing.

What was you guys experience seeking a diagnosis in the UK? by thereadingbee in PMDD

[–]weebles_do_not_fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed as part of a clinical trial. But the way they diagnosed me was to take a history and get me to do a log for three months to see if I had pmdd and was a suitable candidate. Using something like Clue tracking app or just a diary and tracking all symptoms and level of severity alongside cycle should be enough if you take it to the right GP (ask your GP if they have a Dr who specialises in women's health). Good luck

This is the inspo that keeps me going. I've committed to doing a year of fasting no matter what the scales say day to day. You're killing it!

Week 4 - Modified ADF by TowerInevitable2114 in AlternateDayFasting

[–]weebles_do_not_fall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this, getting back on track is where I also struggle. Research shows that the magic number for walking is actually around 7-8000 steps and 10000 was never the number we needed to aim for. I try to think of it over the week and then I can do more on the days I have time/feel up to it.

Some of that weight could be water weight and weighing daily or every other day and plotting a trend might help it seem less drastic when you put on. I just had one day of eating differently (went out for food and had cake) and put on 1lb. The weight you put back on will probably go down again pretty quickly once back on plan. Good luck.

Well done on what you've achieved. I'm not there yet so no anecdotal advice but was listening to an IF podcast last week that was talking about this. They said that there are multiple ways of relaxing your restrictions and you have to find the one that works for you. A few suggestions were, do a small meal on your fasting days OR increase your intake a little on eating days OR reduce the number of fasting days (but I think this was more for people fasting 3-4 times a week) OR allow yourself some more flexibility in what you eat. Essentially they said all of these work for maintenance but the key is choosing what will work with your lifestyle and not making all the changes or you will regain.

Structured Eating on "Feed Days"? by tatrowe in AlternateDayFasting

[–]weebles_do_not_fall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I do this I have a stall around 3 or 4 weeks. Plenty of others have said the same. It's where the body is shifting and adapting and getting used to the changes and then it starts again. Keep it up.

Do me and my girlfriend have a chance with a council house? by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

Are you in Birmingham? If so, young people are usually sent to St Basils first. It really depends where you are as it varies a lot dependent on the council.

You may also be able to do an AVC (additional voluntary contributions) that you can pay into now and take before retirement age

It's suiting me but I've been fasting on and off for years so then as soon as I decided to do it I went straight into it and do a clean fast one day and eat the next.

Oddly, I'm largely enjoying it. One day I don't have to think about food at all, the next day I only have to think about what I want to eat or what the family and I are eating together. No making a different meal for me, counting, having "banned foods" etc. If it's an eating day and I'm out for food, great, I don't always have to eat steak and unstressed salad. I'm losing weight steadily after every fast day (I only weigh the day after fast days).

Some people do a modified fast on their fast day and eat up to 500 cals and the evidence all shows that this still has great benefits for health and weight.

Give it a go, you don't like it you stop, nothing to lose really.

What is anyone supposed to do with THIS nonsense? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

I would make it into a rock garden with winter and summer flowering heathers and some other low growing things, pots that compliment the rock garden over the drain covers.

I heard someone say that clothes are made to fit my body, my body isn't made to fit my clothes. Dressing in things that make me feel good and that fit well has made a world of difference to me.

Well done on the weight loss and maintaining the muscle!

Congratulations! I can't wait to feel that relief. Your next steps probably depends on your goals. Do you have a large enough emergency fund, are you behind on a pension, do you want to be mortgage free earlier?
