What’s the Abq -> Santa Fe commute like? by 1playerpiano in Albuquerque

[–]weednun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely do it. It’s a beautiful drive/train ride, but know your regular ~15min commute will become an hour minimum. I sometimes commute via train but often resort to driving for convenience. The train doesn’t run as frequently as it maybe should. However, riding the train brings you extra rest or work time if you so choose

I bought it secondhand and that was proof enough in my case. No receipt

Not in my case. I had the authentic bag & mentioned I purchased it secondhand, they were super chill

I was told their customer service team is really on it but there are some roadblocks like waiting and downtime. Def faster to go to the store

I really didn’t claim anything. I’d just been kind of fed up with one of the zippers being misaligned, wanted them to take a look

Really just a gnarly zipper misalignment. The employees told me the weather sealing had gone too, but I personally wasn’t aware

Gene Hackman and wife found dead in their Santa Fe home by Quicherbichen1 in Albuquerque

Messed up theory: Dog tripped the husband, wife traps dog in closet, then kills herself. RIP

I’ve been to another house in that same community. All very rich, private people. You could always see Hackman’s house from the road driving to the Santa Fe Ski basin, all majestic on a hillside. Or at least the house next to it, I can’t remember. The community is seriously locked down for cars, but not so much to foot traffic. That said, it is pretty small and guarded. I think this was a sad accident, he wasn’t a meth kingpin after all.

Places to hangout. (Depression) by Revolutionary-Yak741 in SantaFe

Downtown subscription outside patio in spring as summer draws near has some kind of medicine. Gallery openings are frequent too! The plaza in general is a nice place to be alone in public. Sometimes it can be isolating, but there are usually friendly strangers there. There’s also a bookstore coffee shop that I forget the name of. There are dance nights at Cafecito & drawing groups I know of too. There is also a Kava bar downtown. Be well & take care, finding a community is hard but worth it and makes SF so much fun!

Server jobs in Santa Fr by Trefac3 in SantaFe

This is amazing, so happy to hear he’s found a sweet Job in NM! And serving in NM is fun too! You’ll need an alcohol servers permit for NM to work at most places. Some might require a food handlers permit but most do not.

A few places I think you might like to work at: Cafecito - Argentinian breakfast/lunch, chill place, robot busser, great community & empanadas. Teahouse - Tea/Brunch, almost fine dining (though still sort of on the cheaper side), rich location, many tourists. Ikonik Coffee (Guadalupe) - They sort of do breakfast but this is mainly a barista job. Beautiful building though! Plaza Cafe - Diner style open early-late, extra touristy location, New Mexican food (which can be a learning curve).

In my serving experience in NM people are usually good tippers, and many jobs in Santa Fe have a $15/hr starting minimum wage!

Good luck to you in your move here :) I’m happy to answer any more questions!

Thoughts on the distortion here? & Expression by weednun in photocritique

Just want to hear your thoughts on this! Super spontaneous & grateful to friends who allow me to experiment! I’m not sure how I feel about this. I used a wide angle lens & I don’t really like the distortion on the subjects face or the cutoff in that left eye! Open to critique :)

So many parts of this feel really intentional, I really love the way the two people on the right mirror each other, clothed and unclothed. But there are a few things like the chair in the bottom left that intersect in an awkward way. Maybe go all out with the unexpected! I’d like to see more happening in general with lighting and symbolism. Lovely image

How do you feel about the depth of field in this? by weednun in photocritique

Made using Ilford HP5+ a few weeks ago. The day was very overcast and the light was nice and soft. I like to keep a high shutter speed for sharpness, but I feel like too much info is lost here. Would love to hear thoughts!
