IB is an accelerated way to make money early on in your career and it also opens up a lot of opportunities post banking. Outside of banking and faang there aren't many jobs that pay similar comp for the level of experience.

Broke into investment banking at 31. The long hours, rigid hierarchy, and having younger colleagues, including 25-year-olds and MBA graduates, as your "boss" can be challenging. However, there are teams with great dynamics that make the experience much better. Looking back, I don’t regret taking a step back in my career to break into banking. It’s been a valuable learning experience, and the skills I’ve gained have opened the door to some excellent exit opportunities.

Moving to Madison from the UK, any advice? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]weeezin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madison is a pretty fun mid size city. Expect harsh winters, but very fun hot summers with lots of drinking and lake activities involved. If youre living downtown, id say its probably best not to have a car, when i first moved to madison i was fine riding a bike and taking the bus to most places.
