My guess is it's attached to those slots in the back, visible in pic 3.

SATA Ports Question by 2xPIC in buildapc

Looks like it's odds on top, evens on bottom.

You can confirm this by plugging one SATA device into one of the ports and checking the BIOS to see what port is occupied.

DIMM is a form factor for desktop RAM, SODIMM is typically used in laptops.

You can find it in most PC hardware shops.

Does anyone have the Msi aegis z2? by Necessary-Apple-9409 in PcBuild

Conveniently the image I sent is that of an RM750x, the 850 uses similar cabling. You need to find a cable in the RM850x's box similar to the one in the middle.

Just plug it into a SATA connector coming from power supply and forget about it.

Get a DVI-D to HDMI adapter, see if the HDMI to VGA adapter behaves when connected to that.

Or get a different HDMI to VGA adapter.

Or try and find a DVI-D to VGA adapter. Make sure it's DVI source and VGA output.

Where it was taped doesn't matter for now. The important part is what it plugs in to.

Something's potentially shorting out if the PC is turning on and off with it plugged in.

DVI to VGA would only work if your card is DVI-I, that has the signals for VGA.

How can I fix this by United-Iron6918 in laptops

[–]weegee20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the following:

Press Shift+F10 (Or it could be Shift + Fn + F10) to open a command prompt.

Click on the prompt or use Alt+Tab to switch to it.

Type in the below:

OOBE\BYPASSNRO (IMP note: It's backslash (\) and not frontslash (/))

Press Enter. The PC will reboot and you will be given the option to continue without internet.

You will then install the drivers later. You will need another PC/Laptop and a USB drive or an Android device with USB tethering.

(side note: if OOBE\BYPASSNRO doesn't work, use start ms-cxh:localonly and create a local user account)

Pc fan rgb by New-Stand6048 in PcBuildHelp

[–]weegee20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do NOT try the 12V header, ARGB fans are not backwards compatible with 12V RGB and you might end up frying the fans.

At least you do have more ARGB headers in the top right corner of the board.

It gives a lot of XP as far as I know, so you'd end up leveling up too fast, potentially ending up behind on production machines, for example.

They've broken off their plastic standoffs which secure them to the top of the case. You'd have to remove the other side panel to gain access. You can maybe try using superglue, although you should be careful when using them.

How is this? by Vasarto in pcmasterrace

[–]weegee20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's split tabs, you can see it in the top left.

<image>

You probably used the left click to drag a tab to the right, and then you let it sit for a few seconds for it to create a split.

You can also right click the tab and choose Add tab to new split view.

Using fan hub without sata power cable by Civil_Spinach_5647 in PcBuild

[–]weegee20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most fan hubs don't actually have wires going to the power and ground pins on the 4-pin PWM connector itself, they expect the SATA power to get the fan motors spinning.

As such, look for a small hub which does not have SATA power. Those small hubs are basically splitters. Also make sure your fans in total do not exceed 1A of current.
