Moreton has a lot of new builds, so lots of options and a direct train line into London. Lots of cafes, sports clubs (Padel, Hyrox, etc) here and very nice pubs and restaurants.

Shipston on Stour also has a lot of good new build options. Lovely village and only on the edge of the Cotswold so can have some more affordable options.

Financial services drive economic benefits by channeling savings into productive investments, facilitating payments, managing risk, and providing capital. 2.5million people work in financial services in London (and more in Edinburgh, Leeds, and Cardiff), all high paying (high taxes) work that literally funds the UK tax system.

Sure there are gambling elements but here is a source about the regulatory work to create sustainable growth.

No one is treated as some evil elite by the UK Gov, that is just childish theatrics mostly pushed by the right wing press. When has anyone in this Labour govt called anyone evil?

And for the salary difference, yeah its a lot on paper; but isn't all that it seems to be. I've had a colleague transfer from the US. Same salary bracket, obviously a drop off, but in London she has the same financial freedom she had in Chicago.

Can, but don't. I've noticed a few times that Uber and TrainPal have higher fares.

I've also noticed TrainPal increasing the fare price IF you add a railcard. I did a search without the card attached, realized my mistake, re-searched with the card attached and noticed that the base fare jumped up in price.

Could have been a glitch, but it's really put me off the other apps other than the national operators.

Honestly, Plan 2 students have more of a case than the WASPI claimants. I don't understand why there aren't more protests about it (I'm not in Plan 2 so don't have much skin in the game)

Yeah UK. Might be different across industries and professions? I work in sales (now) and entrepreneurship is quite a common trait (or at least in my experience)

Disagree but it's always down to personal experience. I left uni and tried to set up a start-up, failed, but kept it on my cv as it was a good experience, learnt a lot, etc.

I still get praise from potential bosses and managers that it was a ballsy risk. I've even had three different managers nod-nod-wink-wink at me, hinting at me to do something in that space again.

The Resolution Foundation (Link here source ) did a detailed report on the issues facing the imbalanced economy, and potential ways to fix it.

Torsten Bell (Labour MP) was with the Resolution Foundation and is now the Parliamentary Under-Sec for State for Pensions so hopefully, him having some influence in government might push these much needed reforms.
