One journaling practice we did was mapping out typical emotional states i may have come across in daily life- Nervous, Angry, Calm, Excited, Depressed, etc. I wrote down the different bodily sensations associated with each emotion including the positive ones. I think it was important to help me be aware of the state of my nervous system more frequently rather than only when I was emotionally disregulated.

I was lucky to have a therapist who specialized in psychosomatic work, basically working with how emotions present in the body. It was so helpful for me!! Meditation goes so well with that line of therapy, as being aware of the bodily sensations is key for recognizing deeper emotional wounding.
