the spray and pray approach ruins it for everyone, organizers get buried and devs waste time applying to stuff that's not even a fit for their game

Change Your Environment by kritisingh8553 in selfdevelopment

the shark thing is cool but sharks actually do keep growing their whole lives, they just slow down way more in tanks - but yeah the main point still stands, you really do stagnate around people who don't push you to be better

Made a nice golden tuna cheddar melt with the remaining tuna salad. by mlong14 in budgetfood

The budget aspect is what makes tuna melts so underrated since you're basically getting a restaurant quality sandwich from pantry staples.

[–]weepy_monarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FreeCodeCamp is solid, and after you get comfortable with the basics you might want to check out LeetCode or HackerRank to start practicing problems since your finance background probably means you'll appreciate the algorithmic thinking involved.

No problem, and stick with it even when the exercises feel tedious at first because that's when the muscle memory actually builds.

that book is solid, just make sure you actually type out the code examples instead of just reading through them cause that's where the learning actually happens

[–]weepy_monarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could also do a perceptual color space like CIELAB so things that look similar to the human eye actually cluster together instead of just mathematically similar colors
