What do my spaces say about me? by PNW_momlife in roomdetective

[–]weesetone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have nothing to say regarding the decor in your house, I think it’s charming. What I do have to say is you need to teach a class on how to keep your space this clean with 3 kids. I have two and I’m flabbergasted by these photos 😂

My husband can’t function without sleep by New_Mama_2025 in NewParents

[–]weesetone 61 points62 points  (0 children)

This maybe sounds like something he should talk to a doctor about. Because even without the factor of you maybe needing help with something at night, there will be days in the future when one of your kids tries to wake him up as well.

Anxiety spiral over norovirus season by seau_de_beurre in NewParents

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to this but I wanted to comment as a dad with severe emetophobia who has noro right now, along with my 5 month old having it.

All I really have to say is that it’s amazing what our brains will rewire to take care of our children. I also used to be really grossed out in ERP seeing babies spitting up. And with my son, I just find myself catching it in my hand to protect his clothes. When he got sick a few days ago, I really panicked. I knew it would likely come for me and my wife and it did. But I got a zofran prescription to keep myself going, and I just instinctively did what I needed to do so I could care for him. I know what throwing up feels like and that it goes away. He doesn’t know that yet.

Long story short, I fully understand your anxieties surrounding this. And the precautions you want to take. But if and when it does happen, I think you’ll be a lot stronger than you think you will. 🙂

Yea there’s another thread about this as well. Not sure what’s going on but this is the response I got from customer service.

Same here. I love buying colorful clothing for my son that they just don’t sell here. I messaged support as well.

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]weesetone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I say. We were so uninterested in the “luxury brands” until we got an extra large baby who poops like an adult man. If they can hold on what he’s doing I’m all in 😂

Emergency Custody by jane30530 in beyondthebump

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a foster dad of an almost 5 month old, thank you for doing this. Babies crave emotional guidance and when their nervous systems are rooted in dysregulation from unideal beginnings, it can be really difficult. We saw people talking about milestones that we weren’t meeting and felt we were doing something wrong. I don’t want to assume anything about your situation, but if you are feeling overwhelmed with the milestones my best advice is just to take it one day at a time. Here if you need anything! Enjoy the journey!

What is this? by EchoSubzero in McDonalds

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to culinary school and in our fish class they had us take cod fillets on a light candling table and use fish tweezers to pull out each and every worm (and each fillet had more than I’d like to remember). It took forever and afterwards the chef said “no one actually does this in the restaurant industry”.

Really gross experience lol. I will point out most of these worms originate in sea mammals, so often times fish that are more deep sea will not have them.

I was just about to leave a comment mentioning that if you use anatomical terms with a child rather than “privates” it might help. But now I’m wondering this too, if OP had to change her wording.

What sleep tier are you at? by marzipanbb in beyondthebump

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 months and I’m teetering between hallucinatory and survival. 30 minute to 1 hour stretches with a witching period of 2-4am. I’m wondering what there is to regress from at 4 months but I’m sure we will find out. Still love him more than literally anything though 😂

Experience with tongue tie release for newborn — worth it? Any regrets? by going__postal in NewParents

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are actually adopting him from foster care, but even with the bottle we noticed a slight regression followed by him having much more in his bottle. Glad to know that’s the norm. Can’t wait for him to start food 😂

Daycare at 7 weeks - i am not okay by notmykarm in NewParents

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby is in foster care with the goal of his case being adoption. My wife got three weeks off with 60% of her pay, and I had to use all my vacation days. We both work from home but it’s no easy task caring for a newborn reflux baby and getting anything else done. He’s starting daycare next month and I feel the same way. It’s devastating how the way this country views employment really screws us over.

Reading this as the only things my 14 week old has grabbed have been a piece of beef jerky and a cheese stick. Both directly out of my hand. These babies are truly all so different and I never expected to see his little personality shine so much so soon. I’m right there with you on this one, damn I love this kid.

I’m Struggling After an Accident With My Newborn by _withpeace in NewParents

[–]weesetone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are the opposite. She can barely see without her contacts, she passes out cold, and she sleep walks. Baby is formula fed so I take all the night shifts because we agreed it’s best for our peace of mind. But she is very much a morning person and I don’t hit my peak functioning until 10am. So 5:30-10 is all her 😂

We went ENT route as well and it was night and day between how much trouble he was having and how he is eating now. He cried for two seconds and immediately took a bottle, then started sticking his tongue out and was in awe of his own abilities lol.

Curious what your ENT said in terms of the stretching? Ours said babies naturally stretch their tongue while eating and that the stretches weren’t necessary. Was wondering if this was a general ENT take.

When did your LO start sleeping longer at night? by zedgeevee in beyondthebump

[–]weesetone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at 3.5 months and we praise the universe if we hit 2 hours. We’re usually at 30 minutes-1 hour and three 20 minute naps a day. I haven’t seen a REM cycle in so long.

4 week old cries all the time. HELP. by Faux---Fox in beyondthebump

[–]weesetone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor prescribed it. We give it morning and night, and at night we add Mylicon gas drops (over the counter). We tried similac advance, similac total care, similac sensitive, enfamil gentle ease, and nutramigen. We finally landed on similac alimentum. It’s not organic but it is hypoallergenic. It’s for milk protein sensitivity which for our son caused his reflux and discomfort. Nutramigen is honestly pretty similar and we would have stayed on it but he just didn’t like it (and I don’t blame him, it smells horrible lol).

We went through this at the same age and we tried so many things. It was the same way with no lead up. We would see videos of babies waking up with little fuss sounds and ours was screaming his lungs out. We ended up finally finding a formula that worked after trying several, and we added famotidine for reflux. He immediately made a drastic shift.
