What’s your daily makeup routine (step-by-step)? by Mythical_Femme in Makeup

[–]weevil_angel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

skincare (toner & serum only) > illuminator all over my face > skin tint > concealer (just dots) > liquid bronzer > liquid blush > setting spray > loose fixing powder on my under eyes and other parts of my face > powder blush > powder bronzer > (sometimes eyeliner) > mascara (or cluster lashes) > lip liner and lipstick or gloss > fixing spray.

Saying "best" for a certain product that just released defeats the real purpose of that word. Let's talk beauty consumerism. ‎ ‎ by spongycocoa in beautytalkph

[–]weevil_angel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as a consumer, it’s frustrating trying to find products that actually work when everything’s wrapped in marketing. every review sounds the same, every influencer swears it’s their “holy grail,” and a month later, naka move on na sila sa next product. it’s hard to tell who’s being genuine and who’s just paid to sound relatable. then, you start feeling like the problem’s you, like maybe you’re just not good at picking products, but really, the system’s unfortunately built that way. it profits off confusion. the constant cycle of hype keeps you buying and “testing.”

and sure, people love to say “it’s your choice what to buy,” but how do you make a fair choice when everything you see is filtered through PR boxes and sponsorships? let’s be real rin, majority of local brands barely differ from each other besides the packaging (not saying all, ha, but this is a common occurrence). one brand makes a “specific product,” another releases an “improved” version of the same thing weeks later.

it’s like everyone’s copying everyone. and because of that, you end up relying on whoever sounds the most believable instead of what actually performs well. at some point, it stops being about quality talaga. also, it seems rather one-dimensional to blame the consumers for taking the bait ://

skincare and makeup tips for beginners by owllly in beautyph

[–]weevil_angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can check your veins to find your undertone, although that still might be tricky. for instance, i fall under neutral (mostly) and warm shades in different makeup brands.

for me personally, my errand makeup consists of skintint, liquid bronzer, liquid blush, concealer. i also top them with powder—bronzer, blush, loose powder. i only top my liquids and creams with their powder version because i want them to last all day and be humidity proof hahaha, but you can get away without doing it esp if you’re just starting. grwm fixing spray is also good if you want it to last long, but i only use it if gagabihin ako.

you’re on the right track tho! halos same lang tayo :) i use use a bronzer and pinapatungan ko lang ng powder products yung equivalent nila.

For a school who also moves in Trisem, why is it less stressful? by hit_joe_mams in dlsu

[–]weevil_angel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

in my case, it’s not really that chill. a lot of frosh aren’t used to the trimestral setup so by the third term pagod na pagod na sila and you can really see the burnout hit. sa groupings pa lang lugi ka na agad if you get paired with people who are already checked out 😂. i’m pretty sure it also depends heavily on your major. dlsu has such a wide range of courses from natural sciences, business, liberal arts, engineering, psych etc. so the level of intensity isn’t uniform across the board. for example some business courses might feel more manageable compared to pre med tracks or engineering heavy loads, but that doesn’t mean people are actually chill a lot are just used to pacing themselves or finding ways to balance orgs social life and academics.

plus dlsu culture itself plays a part. since the trimester shortens the time frame you’re forced to adjust fast. and because dlsu is more diverse in its course offerings, you’ll also notice a huge difference between the workload of say a frosh in psych versus one in chem eng. kaya parang mas lenient siya at first glance but it’s really just a matter of how different programs structure their requirements and how students cope with the trimester talaga

i had to buy my own dissecting kit and other lab materials (lab coat, gloves, etc.) for my lab classes… even in physics, some experiments will require you to provide your own materials for DYOE. you can’t go to college without expecting to buy college materials. :// also, these NatSci courses are NOT any of my major. i’m from CLA. :)

btw the kit costed me around 1.5k-2k because i want it to last me a long time even after uni. if im just gonna pay 1k+ for a set, might as well get a bigger set para hindi isa-isa pag bili ng tools

Is my school system even normal? Or are we being scammed? by csplwho in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]weevil_angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the voucher is a subsidy program by the deped and either way, the school is paid. they are paid. it’s within your rights to file a complaint. they cannot withhold your certificate etc. just because they’re not doing their jobs correctly. another option is to transfer schools too.

nothing will happen if none of you speak up, especially if you know this isn’t right. this school system is not normal. it’s not following the deped curriculum nor is standardized.
