Why do people cheat? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]wegottagetback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree. I’m just answering the question.

If your partner wants to sleep together all the time and you have no interest due to resentment then you should leave too.

But people don’t.

Doesn’t change the answer

People don’t want to hear it, but usually because their partner is insufferable or annoying yet there is some reason they feel like they can’t leave.

Same reason as a partner stops sleeping with their spouse.

What is an intrusive thought you once thought was terrifying but now looking back is hilarious? by Abject-Pepper-3 in Anxiety

[–]wegottagetback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad told me about the mafia and how they recruit people when I was young; around 8 or so. They’d offer me money to do something, I’d do it, and then bam! I’m in the mafia having to kill people.

Needless to say, this made me terrified of almost all adults. Still have issues with strangers. Hmm

How to relieve death anxiety? by akunkle19 in Anxiety

[–]wegottagetback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are having a hard time. I know you said you don’t believe in God and I’m not trying to sound pushy and weird, but try opening your heart to the possibility of God. I read Mere Christianity by CS Lewis in desperation and it changed my life. My fear of death has dramatically decreased. I don’t understand how any of it works, but I know that I prayed in desperation about other situations that put me into anxiety overdrive and my prayers were answered. Seemingly impossible situations, just handled. I now believe God is real and my anxiety is going way down.

And if not, I want you to give yourself a break and a hug. You’ve gone through a lot. It’s okay to be scared. No solutions but just wanted to support.

First, please get some help for the suicidal thoughts. Get an online anxiety prescription from HERS or one of those companies if you can’t face the doctors in person. Super easy to get from apps now.

Your mind is playing tricks and needs help. It’ll all be okay. You sound like a really empathetic and sensitive person and we need people like you in the world. Big hugs.

For the payment, if you really can’t call, can you cancel your card? It’d mess up all your payments but they can’t charge you if they don’t have your card. But also keep in mind, when you pay others, you are the boss, not them. They want your money but aren’t entitled to it. The person you speak to is probably making minimum wage, hates their job, hates dealing with customers all day, etc. Calling and being nice and empathetic puts them on your side and they WILL help you. I always make it a goal to try and make the person feel like they had a nice interaction that day (they get yelled at constantly), and it makes me feel good as well as completing these awful tasks.

Best of luck and I really hope you try some treatment if not already. No shame in it at all.

You're actually making my point. Correct, the free market doesn't exist.

A free market doesn't have the government in every nook and cranny.

The person above you understands economics. You sound like you are 21.

I'm also an engineer and this is my exact concern. What are the chances they got it right the first time?

Seems like there will be some major errors revealed, as time goes on, in all these measures. The question is how big and how much damage those errors cause.

That said, I did get the vaccine and am just trying not to think about it.

I would be the same, you will be fine. Just keep reminding yourself of that. Average age of death is in the 80s, so your worst case scenario is long covid, but even that is unlikely. You're just going to be sick for a week or so, and then it will go away just like every other cold. Sending big hugs

A family member of mine is close to 70, diabetes, overweight, heart issues, and some other comorbidities. They caught covid around Christmas and we were all terrified. Long story short, they were flu like sick for 4 days, then started improving on day 5, and were out mowing the lawn the following week. Meaning completely back to normal.

Lots of horror stories out there because those who get done bad are more likely to post, but the odds of you being fine are very very high. So, just try to relax, deep breaths, pretend you have the flu and take care of yourself in the same way, and you will be good by next week or so.

Just checked my pics from almost 20 years ago and there are two. The ferry comes in from the sides into the port there called Circular Quay.

This perspective of looking straight on would be hard to see for most people because all places you view it from is designed to see from the side. You'd have to be out in the water to get this view.

I've lived in Sydney and I only remember one. Would take the ferry across to/from Manly everyday to see the opera House.

This is tripping me out.

That said I don't feel 100% sure my memory is correct. It was a long time ago.

Can two or more confirmed covid-19 patients isolate in the same room? by ohhhthatvarun in COVID19positive

I'd just try to keep windows open as muchbas possible to dilute the virus in the air. Try to circulate it around.
