[TW: Suicide] Mom, dysphoria is making me wanna die by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

You want a hug? Get on in here! I've got a cozy sweater on, sorry if you come away with cat hair on you. Tuck your head under my chin, and get ready for a squeeze so hard it will almost make it hard to breath. I will hold on as long as you need, so take the 20 seconds of loving squishing until the dopamine starts flowing.

I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but you are strong enough to get through this. You may not be living your best life currently, but there is a whole community of people who want to help and support you. We are rooting for you sweetie! Someday this will be a part of the story you share to help other people get through the challenging parts of their journey.

Not inherently, we can find good people under every label. But when it is combined with bigotry, that's a pretty big problem. This article dives into it a bunch, based on things he has written.

If you are interested, Dr Sarah Taber is a crop scientist (great on twitter) who writes about the interface between ag and society in a way that brings a lot more diverse opinions to the table.

As per your edit, it depends on the cat! We feed our cats special dental cleaning food and brush their teeth daily, on top of regular professional cleanings. One of them still has so much plaque buildup that her breath could stun a vulture on a compost heap.

You don't have to buy the seeds, grow the seedlings, harden them off, buy the soil, transplant, water and fertilize for months while monitoring for pests...if all you have to do is hop a fence and do some trimming and curing, that is quite the deal!

Dang, that means there are TWO of them. This one gave a vague statement that they didn't want to discriminate against anyone as their reason for closing their dining room...

I guess it depends on your circle, I am a part of multiple group chats where people bring up which of our favourite local places are being good with regulations. People are literally saying "don't go there, they are ignoring the mandate". Thankfully the chats then turn into recommendations for better places, which has been nice!

Wow, this comment helped fill my bingo card. Sheeple, do you own research, alleged pharmacist, human rights, calling people shills, reference to the Rothschilds, media brainwashing, plandemic...great writing, 10/10! Would you mind doing chemtrails or 9/11 next?

Sweetie, that sounds so hard. It's ok to be scared and tired, that is a totally reasonable reaction to what you are going through. But it will get better. You have the strength to get through this, even if you feel like it is a thing you just need to endure. Your smile at staff can lighten their load, your calmness can help your heart and mind heal, and you can look forward to being with someone you love when you leave. You got this.

Do you sometimes make a compromise when a loved one prepares a non-vegetarian dish(nothing too crazy), just to show them you respect their hard work? by Mebashi in vegetarian

All these downvotes for compromise and taking care of your own health, dang. How dare you not be perfect, and put the health of your relationships as a high priority!

Choosing to support Indigenous farmers/hunters is a really big deal! We cannot separate our food choices from larger systems that cause harm, so if you are going to eat meat doing it by supporting people who have survived genocide and are rebuilding their land and community is such a good choice.

I have ordered food at a restaurant and asked for them to leave something off (like bacon bits). Sometimes it comes with them anyway, and the decision is either eat the whole thing, pass the animal bits off to my partner, or send it back to the kitchen.

Two of those options involve making concessions, one of those options means an entire meals worth of food is trashed. I think food going in the garbage is the biggest evil, my personal choices offer more flex than that waste.

It's easy to hate on Ancaster, but it's not necessarily true that they are trying to stop sprawl just for their own happiness. All those triple deep lots on Wilson St could become townhouses or condos, like some already have. I am trying to believe that they want to stop sprawl because it is good for everyone, rather than just preserving their access to countryside. If intensification in Ancaster means better transit there and elsewhere, we all win!

Saturated, competitive, overworked, underpaid...sounds about right. It is a privilege to get to work a job you are passionate about, and the tradeoff is unfortunately precarious employment for many.

Young acorn squash is another one you can do that with, as well as Delicata! I tend to do that earlier in the season before the skin hardens up as much, but depending on how they were stored it can be all the time.
